The Chicago Bears’ head coach, Matt Eberflus, is turning heads with a brand new look. Recently, the 53-year-old made his first public appearance at the NFL Combine and floored his fans with a new look. The coach had chosen to grow out his facial hair and seemed to have embraced his beard. However, he might not be the only one who seems to like this new aesthetic.

In a recent episode of Up & Adams, Kay Adams addressed Eberflus’ new look. She ended up asking him whether he knew that he was being compared to George Clooney online. The humble coach chuckled at the question and admitted, “Yeah, it was my wife’s idea to grow it out, so I did it as a favor to her.” However, he also dodged the comparisons by saying, “I don’t look like George Clooney, I’ve got a face for radios, they say.”

Eberflus might not be taking his recent comparison to Clooney seriously. However, it looks like his fans might be a little more strict than his wife about what happens with his facial hair. Adams brought it up on the show as well. The sports newscaster said, “Everyone is saying now that you can’t get rid of the beard, it’s just the thing, and ever since you had it, we get Caleb, we get Rome.”

Since the 53-year-old switched up his look, the Bears have been on a steady upward climb. After all, they wound up bagging some of the best players in this year’s NFL Draft.

Matt Eberflus shares how Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze will benefit the Bears

When the 2024 NFL Draft drew to a close this year, the Bears seemed to have somewhat of an upper hand. Apart from the drafting of QB Caleb Williams and WR Rome Odunze, the team also signed wide receiver Keenan Allen. The Washington trade had happened a month before the new additions joined the team. However, it also seemed to be coach Matt Eberflus’ way of creating a dynamic offense.

In a media conference after the final round had ended, Eberflus claimed, “I think it’s going to be tough to defend, starting with practice.” The 53-year-old elaborated on what he meant by saying that defending Williams and Odunze would help improve the rest of the player’s skill set. After all, “They’re different skill sets,” added the coach.

While other Bears players might have to get used to Odunze and Williams’ plays, the athletes might gel together. After all, the two college football stars got a chance to spend time together at the NFL Scouts Combine earlier this year before they became teammates.

Fans might be waiting for the season to begin to set their judgments in stone, but the new quarterback seems filled with confidence being the overall No.1 draft pick this year. Hopefully, the athlete will live up to the expectations he has promised fans.
