Lamar Jackson was asked about the massive battle against the 49ers in the upcoming week.  He started his answer by saying how this game would be very entertaining for the fans and that he must be prepared for the Niners because “it’s a great team.” He was then asked about how people were saying that this game would be a Super Bowl preview and what are his thoughts on it.

Per Jackson, the game feels different yet the same as previous matches. For him, on the one hand, it’s just another game that he would look to do well in, and on the other, he will be gearing up for the festive season. The Ravens QB was seen saying, “Super Bowl is in February, we’re in December right now. We got to focus on Monday night. I’m not worried about what people say.”

Jackson added by saying that he likes it when his team are underdogs because it motivates them to win games. He further commented on how usually during Christmas, he is at home watching basketball, but this time he will be the one entertaining the fans.

Lamar Jackson is 19-1 against the NFC and a lot of it boils down to his trust in his team. Though he is not in the MVP conversation currently, the Ravens are a genuine threat to the 49ers at this point because of their unique playing style and commitment to win. The greatest scene to witness in this competition of the table toppers would be Brock Purdy going up against the Ravens’ QB.

On paper, Jackson is lacking in performance as Brock Purdy leads him in almost every aspect. Jackson’s pass completion rates fluctuate between 50-60% compared to Purdy’s 70-80%. However, the stats on paper do not dictate the outcome of the game and are merely an insight into it. Keeping that in mind, the outcome of this game will be determined majorly by the play reflected by the Quarterbacks along with the adaptation to pressure-filled situations.

While Brock Purdy has the burden of the MVP discussion on his shoulders, Lamar Jackson will play only for the incentive of winning the game. Currently, the Baltimore team is on a 4 game-win streak and the Niners are on a 6-game winning streak. The excitement from the clash builds even more when thought in this perspective.
