“We have signed WR Nelson Agholor to a one-year contract extension!” said the Baltimore Ravens’ account on the social media platform. The financial details of Agholor’s contract extension are not revealed yet. All we know is the fact that he is carrying a cap hit of $417,000 this year and is also eligible for a signing bonus of $417,000. He will be a free agent again by this time next year unless the Ravens decide to give him a franchise tag.

While things are looking up for Nelson Agholor, the same can’t be said about Odell Beckham Jr., whose contract is also nearing an end with the Baltimore Ravens.

Beckham Jr. signed a $15M deal to stay with the Ravens for a year. Now his time with the team has come to an end after the 2023 season. The Baltimore team gave him a heavy bonus when he joined them for the year, but matters look slightly different this time around as there is no update on the Ravens wanting to extend their contract with him. If he chooses to play with the same team, though, he will carry a cap hit of $11,068,000 and a dead cap value of $11,068,000 as well.
The problem with OBJ is that he does not fall in the category of young WRs anymore, which mostly is where the interest of franchises lies. Another reason he might not get signed with the Ravens is that he finished his season with not the most exceptional numbers. He had 565 yards and 3 touchdowns to show for the whole season, and that’s without suffering any major injuries.
