Alright, y’all know what are the two most talked about things ahead of the playoffs? Well, the first one is who’s gonna get the MVP, and the second one, of course, is who’s gonna be the Pro Bowler. And for Baker Mayfield’s Tampa Bay, the big question remains whether any of their players would make a cut this year. Well, at least the fans are hoping for a couple of Bucs’ players to get that Pro Bowl nod. And seems that they might get lucky.
A while ago, the Tampa Bay confirmed their Pro Bowl players. It’s the defensive tackle, Tristan Wirfs, and the nose tackle, Vita Vea, who actually did make the Pro Bowl. And here’s the kicker: Mayfield’s wife, Emily Mayfield, has a special message for both players as she shared a story on her Instagram with Wirfs’ and Vea’s pic captioning, “Well deserved.”
As it appears, the QB’s wife is supporting his team and especially cheering on not just her husband but his teammates as well. And no wonder there’s more to this for the Buccaneers than the personal accolades. Well, the Pro Bowl would have been a big feat for the Mayfield family, there’s no doubt there. But Emily is out there celebrating those who made it to the cut.

Now, here’s where things turn pretty bittersweet. The Buccaneers QB is playing a season to remember, isn’t he? Despite that, he didn’t quite make it onto the official Pro Bowl roster. It’s a bit of a mixing bag, right? Honestly, it seems so, given the QB has a standout season so far amassing over 4,000 yards ranking 3rd in the league, and racking up 39 touchdowns.
Remember that Buccaneers VS. Saints showdown? Yeah, the one where the former clinched a roaring triumph over the latter with 51-27. Well, that wasn’t all from that game. Mayfield grabbed the spotlight as the QB racked up 5 TD passes in the game. His personal best in the touchdown passes. And where did that land him?

So, the talk of the town in Tampa is that Baker Mayfield has found himself on the alternatives list for Pro Bowl games. Well, the Tampa Bay team has introduced their Pro Bowlers & alternates and many might have re-checked it so far, but the list is legit. The QB is on the alternatives list along with the veteran wide receiver, Mike Evans.
In another story on her Instagram handle, Emily shared a post of the alternatives posted by the Tampa Bay team’s official Instagram account. Along with her husband and Evans, the list includes veteran linebacker, Lavonte David and kicker, Chase Mclaughlin. Talk about rubbing salt on a wound.
Well, look at David this season. The guy’s been all over the field—104 combined tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 7 tackles for loss? The dude’s a beast! Not to mention Evans. Sure, the wideout has his ups and downs this season, but Evans turned out to be a key player in the Buccaneers’ offensive efforts. But at the end of the day, it’s a fact that both the veterans now have joined Baker Mayfield in the alternatives list.

While the year didn’t go as planned for Mayfield, he still has a job to do. The Tampa Bay is preparing for their season-ending showdown against the Saints and will enter the gridiron with a 56.4% chance of securing a playoff berth. Not to forget the opposition as there are hopes from Baker Mayfield to shine against the New Orleans team. Once Again!
