Is Patrick Mahomes on track to become the greatest quarterback in NFL history with his record-breaking pace?

Although the Chiefs were going to be a force this season, few could have predicted the start they had made after 8 weeks of NFL action. Going into week 9, the Chiefs are the only team yet to be beaten. And the way they are constantly dealing with the injuries makes it seem their winning mentality is growing stronger every week.

Well, next up is Baker Mayfield’s Buccaneers, who are dealing with their own struggles in key positions. Losing Mike Evans and Chris Godwin from their receiver room, the Bucs suffered their fourth loss of the season against the Falcons on Sunday. However, the Chiefs may have finally found some positive updates on two of their players ahead of the Bucs clash.

Talking with the reporters on Thursday, the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave an injury update on RB Isiah Pacheco. “He getting there, but he’s doing fantastic. I mean, he’s really doing well, but we just, you know, between the trainers and doctors, and all that’s out my hands there. But he’s getting there, he’s making great progress.” Pacheco found himself added to the injury reserves after suffering a fractured fibula on his ankle in week 3. While he was set to miss six to eight weeks, it seems the Chiefs RB could be back before his expected timeline.

And Pacheco wasn’t the only player that Reid gave an update on. He even talked about DE Charles Omenihu, who has been on the PUP list since getting his ACL torn last season. “Charles Omenihu is doing a good job, working his tail off. Again, the surgeons that do their jobs. They have the feel of it. And so they’re constantly evaluating these guys. Both of them, Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu, are getting closer.”

Based on the updates that Reid gave on his players, the Bills clash in week 11 would be the earliest we can expect them to play. Well, that would surely be music to the Chiefs Kingdom, as that clash could determine the AFC’s No.1 seed in the postseason. Apart from dealing with constant injuries, Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs are not ready to lose any momentum whatsoever.

Patrick Mahomes Chiefs set to enter record books as they welcome Bucs in Kansas City

What’s your perspective on:

Is Patrick Mahomes on track to become the greatest quarterback in NFL history with his record-breaking pace?

Have an interesting take?

It seems like every week, a new record is coming out of the Chiefs Kingdom. Well, are you even surprised, considering the start they have made to the season? Taking on the Raiders last week, Patrick Mahomes etched his name in the NFL record books. He became the fastest player to record 30,000 yards in its 104-year-old history. And while doing so, he also helped his bestie, Travis Kelce, open his end zone account for the season. But hold on, that’s not where it ends. With the Chiefs winning on Monday night, it would be their 14th consecutive win that surpasses their own record of 13 in the 2019-20 season.

Even Mahomes was full of praise for the way his team had been performing this year: “Guys have accepted the challenge. And that’s why we’ve been able to win these games we’ve won.” Well, the Bucs coach Todd Bowles is also mindful of the Chiefs’ winning mentality this season, “They know how to win. They’ve been through it many times. They know how to win blowouts. So you’re going to have to play a heck of a football game to beat them.”
