Brandon Aiyuk’s future with the Niners is up in the air as the contract talks hit the wall, prompting a formal trade. The WR has hinted at trade speculations on social media and podcast shows. Despite all these, the 49ers seem to be silent. But why? Are they still not affected by Aiyuk’s trade request? Well, David Helman explains it all.

“But the 49ers are some like attention-drawing divas,” said Helman on the Speak show. The Cowboys‘ staff writer stated that the Niners enjoy drama, relating to the uncertainties regarding Brandon Aiyuk’s contract, “The 49ers are like Bane… they were born in the drama“. Helman believes that the 49ers are being themselves in carrying out the trade situation. Furthermore, the analyst had several justifications to back up his views on the impact of Aiyuk’s contract on the Niners.

Trading Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo were also some instances of the Niners’ QB drama from the last season. “Jimmy Gs out, wait no Jimmy we need you, come back“, Helman sarcastically explained the trade situation created by the Niners. Moreover, Deebo Samuel’s ‘trash‘ talk on the Eagles’s cornerback, and George Kittle’s ‘F**** Dallas‘  t-shirt and not getting afraid to be fined, are proofs of the outspoken nature of the Niners. The Niners are unafraid of ‘confrontation‘, ‘spotlight‘ and ‘little drama‘, as they go on winning their games.

Aiyuk’s contract seems like a part of a drama, just like the ones from the 49ers last season. That’s why Helman believes the Niners will be undistracted by Brandon’s contract debacle. Irrespective of the fact that the flanker requested a formal trade, San Francisco has no interest in releasing him. And that’s what justifies Helman’s beliefs on the impact of the WR’s contract on the 49ers.

But what if Aiyuk finally gets the much-awaited trade release from his team? Some spectacular trade options are there for the 26-year-old WR provided the 49ers fulfil his trade request.

Potential trade options for Brandon Aiyuk

Aiyuk can be the first choice for most teams owing to his game-changing running after catches, and win against one-on-one coverages on key-downs, the first being Washington Commanders. The combination of Aiyuk and Jayden Daniels can be a real boost to finding easy perimetric completions due to the chemistry. And with Terry McLaurin, the duo can give the Commanders a pair of attacks to secure the Super Bowl.

Just like the Washington team, the Patriots are on the waiting list to recruit a WR. Since they have a young passer, Aiyuk can be an excellent trade option for the Patriots due to his win on vertical routes of catch-and-run concepts. Moreover, the 26-year-old QB can also be an excellent choice for the Steelers. Aiyuk running with George Pickens can be a real headache among foes while supporting Russell Wilson with a dependable pass-catching option.

Even if the Niners are silent on the contract negotiations, and the trade request, Aiyuk can be a valuable trade option for Niners’ foes. But, his contract situation is feeling like deja vu. Remember Robbie Goud in 2019 and Deebo Samuel in 2022? Although they were on hold for long, the strategic pattern of delayed gratification of the Niners’ GM led to lucrative extensions for Goud and Samuel. So, will Aiyuk get what he deserves?
