As soon as Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots parted ways with each other. The suggestions for his next job were up and about. And the frontrunners came out to be the Atlanta Falcons. Not only do they have an opportunity to get Belichick but also reunite him with his old QB.
Arthur Blank, the owner of the Falcons, has been an ardent fan of the veteran coach. As the 6X Super Bowl-winning HC and general manager look forward to joining the franchise. He could also have a reunion with QB Cam Newton.

In 2020, the leading rushing TD quarterback Newton was Belichick’s choice. And as fate would have it, Belichick looks to be heading to Newton’s hometown. And as Newton put it, there is only a team that he’ll come back for in the foray. Since Newton has stepped away from football in 2022.

“Me having a family now. It’s always been about family and I don’t see myself leaving Atlanta”, said Newton. And the potential of reuniting with his previous boss must be exciting for him as well.
However, their time together wasn’t the most fruitful. Newton lost his place to Mac Jones and was soon let go from the roster. Despite their short time, Belichick holds him in high regard. “I have nothing but positive thoughts and feelings for Cam. He came in here, he worked hard. He gave us everything he had”, said HC on Newton’s departure. But is Belichick even heading to the Falcons?
Does Arthur Blank have cold feet?
A few weeks earlier, Belichick moving to the Falcons looked like a done deal. But that isn’t the case anymore. With momentum slowing down and reports suggesting that the front office at the Falcons is unsure of hiring the multiple-time Super Bowl-winning coach.

Blank’s policy of ‘Belichick or bust’ had been publicized a lot after the firing of previous HC Arthur Smith. And as the Falcons continue to interview other candidates for the top coaching job, not only the potential reunion but Belichick’s future could be in danger.
