Travis Kelce recently opened up about his wellness routine. He further shared what he values most about his loved ones, revealing the secrets behind his success. The Chiefs’ TE also shared his daily routine during the shoot for his new Zen Water, ‘Find Yours’ campaign.
Workout has allowed him to maintain peak performance at an age where other tight ends have typically seen a decline. This dedication contrasts sharply with the career paths of other notable players of his caliber, like Rob Gronkowski and Tony Gonzalez.

While having the conversation, Travis Kelce expressed gratitude for being a part of the Chiefs who have allowed him to grow as an athlete on field and off the field. The 34-year-old further added, “I’ll take you into Kansas City because that’s where I am for eight months out of the year. My first hour is wake up, get a great breakfast, a healthy breakfast, fuel up. I know that I’m about to go and work out here soon or at least have to be attentive in meetings and stuff, so I make sure I fuel up. And part of that is hydrating, man. Making sure I’m doing the right things.”
Kelce’s commitment to his wellness, and his training routine has led him to make exceptional achievements. The TE is a nine-time Pro Bowler and a seven-time All-Pro, with four first-team and three second-team selections. He also holds the record for the most consecutive and most overall seasons with 1,000 receiving yards by a tight end, achieving this feat an impressive seven times.

There have been other players of Kelce’s caliber over the years. But TEs like Rob Gronkowski and Tony Gonzalez’s performance declined as they entered their late 30s.
Kelce could outperform Gronk and Gonzalez in career longevity
Rob Gronkowski, aka “Gronk,” had a career filled with incredible achievements and significant injuries. By the age of 31, Gronkowski had already retired once due to the toll injuries had taken on his body. Gronk chose to retire after the 2018 season at 29, but returned to play with the Bucs in 2020. While still effective, his performance was not what it used to beat during his peak years. The injuries he endured throughout his career prevented him from maintaining his elite performance.

Surprisingly, Tony Gonzalez, widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, played until he was 37 years old. However, his most statistically dominant years were in his late 20s and early 30s. By the age of 34, while still highly effective, his production had considerably declined compared to his peak years. Gonzalez’s longevity in the league is impressive, but even he experienced a natural decline in performance with age.
Travis Kelce, on the other hand, continues to perform at an elite level as he is nearing his late 30s. The TE demonstrates that with the right mindset and regimen; it is possible to sustain peak performance well into one’s late 30s.
