Tom Brady’s comments regarding the current state of the NFL generated a lot of media attention. Players across the board, both current and former, poured in with their reactions. With the San Francisco 49ers set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, the father of one of the players from the 49ers team joined in on the conversation. And he chose to take the side of the QB and chose him over his son.

On a Front Office Sports podcast, Ed McCaffrey, who played in the NFL for 13 years and won 2 Super Bowl Championships, agreed with most of what Brady had said. “But yeah, quarterbacks don’t have to protect him as much anymore. That’s a good thing.” But it seems QB Brock Purdy cares too much about his son to let him take the hits.

Christian McCaffrey has scored 16 TDs this season, and 5 of them were receiving TDs from Brock Purdy. More than Sturdy Purdy, McCaffrey has been their MVP. In the upcoming games as well, Purdy, who has a tendency to throw interceptions, must be protected, while McCaffrey should be allowed to run the ball.

Will the QB-RB duo succeed in leading their team to their 9 victory over a formidable opponent on Sunday Night Football?

Will the 49ers manage to overcome the Eagles on Sunday?

The 49ers are currently at the top of the NFC West table. After winning 5 consecutive games in their first 5 games of the season, fans thought it was a foregone conclusion that there was no chance they wouldn’t make it to the playoffs. But just then, they lost 3 back-to-back games. Now they are back in the Super Bowl conversation again with their 3 back-to-back wins.
