Home/NFL

As we roll into Week 18. All eyes are on the Miami Dolphins as they get ready for their battle with the New York Jets. With playoff hopes hanging by a thread, the team faces some tough decisions and injury concerns. While some big names are stepping up, others won’t be joining the action. This has created a tense atmosphere ahead of this crucial game. So, what’s the situation with the Dolphins?

As we just take a look into the final actives and inactive list for the Phins, the big news is the absence of starting QB #1 Tua Tagovailoa. The hip injury that’s been bothering him has kept him out of action for this pivotal game. The Dolphins have confirmed that Tua is inactive for this game. This means backup QB Skylar Thompson or QB Mike White is expected to step in to lead the offense. While both have had limited starts, they will need to step up for Miami’s playoff push which is less than 25% according to NFL standings.

On a brighter note, Tyreek Hill will be on the field today!! Despite dealing with a wrist injury and illness, Hill has been cleared to play, giving the offense a major boost. Alongside him, Jaylen Waddle, who was also nursing a knee injury, will be active for the game. Having these two dynamic wideouts available is essential for the backup quarterback. As they will be his primary targets to stretch the Jets’ defense and keep the Dolphins’ playoff dream alive.

As for the Dolphins‘ list of inactives, it’s not just Tua sitting this one out. LB Anthony Walker Jr. and Mohamed Kamara will also be unavailable, along with OL Andrew Meyer and Braeden Daniels. On the receiving side, Dee Eskridge and Erik Ezukanma won’t be suiting up either. These absences will test Miaim’s depth. But the team is determined to rally and make it count when it matters most.

In the end, while the Dolphins are missing a few key players, the light of Hill and Waddle provides the offense with a fighting chance. With a backup quarterback under center, the game will depend on the Phins’ ability to make big plays in the passing game and tighten up their defense to outlast the Jets.

Jets’ Injury Troubles: Can They Handle Miami?

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Dolphins' dynamic duo carry the team without Tua, or is it game over for Miami?

Have an interesting take?

The Jets don’t really have a clean slate as they prepare for Miami, with many key players sidelined due to injury. OL Morgan Moses will miss this game due to a knee injury in Week 15, and EDGE Braiden McGregor is out with a foot injury. The Jets’ secondary will also be thin, as CB Michael Carter II misses the game with an ankle injury, and CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse sits out due to a concussion. Safety Jaylin Simpson is also out due to a hamstring injury.

And if we just look at the other side of the coin. We will find that DL Phidarian Mathis is out due to a knee injury in Week 16, while LB Jamin Davis will be unavailable because of a shoulder injury. These absences will make it even tougher for the Jets to handle Miami’s fast-paced offense, with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle back in action.

However, despite the numerous setbacks, the Jets still have a solid foundation to build on. Their defense, though a little thin, still has experienced players who can make an impact, and the rest of the team will need to rise to the occasion in this crucial matchup with Miami.
