It’s no news that the Raiders made some massive changes to their management and coaching staff recently. Coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler were sacked following the teams’ dismal performances this season. This happened on Wednesday and caught the internet by storm. Antonio Pierce has stepped up as the interim HC, and Champ Kelly will be the GM going forward.

This change has got Maxx Crosby all fired up, and he tweeted about it. The news does not surprise Crosby, and though he is grateful for the past, he is focusing on the future. He gives a hint about what to expect from the Raiders in the future.

It hasn’t taken long for the Raiders players to get hyped following Josh McDaniels’ untimely departure. The players have shown respect to their former coach but are now focused on a new chapter. Maxx Crosby is one of the foremost advocates for Antonio Peirce. In a clip from his upcoming podcast, Crosby opened up on the last 24 hours.

Crosby commented, “First off, just giving my thanks to coach McDaniels and Dave Zeigler.” He talked about Antonio Pierce and commented, “We got our boy, Antonio Pierce stepping in as the interim head coach. He’s as real as they come… Real Raider from day one… been a Raiders’ fan since he was born.”

Crosby expressed his gratitude for coach McDaniels and the former GM Dave Ziegler and thanked them for the opportunity that he was given. From the looks of it, a lot of exciting things are coming for the Raiders’ fans after they revamped everything about their roster.

Pierce and his venture after the NFL

Antonio Pierce retired in 2010, and since then, he has been on the coaching side of things. He started at Long Beach Poly High School in 2014, later joining the Arizona State as a DC and the associate HC. Since then, he hasn’t looked back and made coaching his main gig. Till now, he was serving as the defensive linebacker coach for the Raiders, but as it stands, new opportunities have opened up for him after McDaniels messed up.

Josh McDaniels was fired after he coached the Raiders for just 8 games this season. It seems like the owner, Mike Davis, had enough of this performance and took matters into his own hands. McDaniels had coached the Raiders for about 6 years, but now, it’s time for him to say his goodbyes and let the new talent take over.

Hopefully, Pierce will take the Raiders to a new level, given that he has been to the Super Bowl multiple times in his career. Crosby admires the former Giants Linebacker and mentions that the team meeting was ‘lit.’
