Justin Herbert was not the only one in his family who played football. In fact, his whole family loved football. His brothers, too, played with him, which ended up toughening up for the world’s biggest football league. However, you would be surprised with what his brothers do now.

His younger brother, Patrick Herbert, is also eyeing a professional football career and plays as a tight end for the Oregon Ducks. He followed the path of his elder brother, who also honed his craft at the Ducks from 2016 to 2019. When the Chargers QB was drafted in the 2020 NFL draft, he posted a photo of the siblings with the caption, “Thank you for not only being my receivers but for being my best friends. I wouldn’t be here without you.” Justin Herbert is lucky.

The brotherly love was always there. And their eldest brother, Mitchell Herbert, paved the way for them. He showed that they can go all the way as he played at the University of Montana as a wide receiver. Unfortunately, he wasn’t drafted in the NFL draft, but it inspired the younger siblings to follow their dreams. They also had an idea about how the draft goes.

Now, courtesy of the Chargers signal caller, they must have all the details about how things work in the league. It would definitely help Patrick as he prepares for the NFL. The brothers often do their workout together, helping each other stay fit. But the brothers aren’t the first to play football in college.

Unique football history of Justin Herbert’s family

Seems like the Herbert brothers inherited football passion from their grandpas. Back in the 1960s, Rich Schwab, their maternal grandfather, played receiver at the University of Oregon. While Justin Herbert’s paternal grandfather, Roger Herbert, a former Oregon sprinter, was a track coach at Sheldon High School. Later, Roger’s son, Mark Herbert, and Rich’s daughter, Holly, fell in love and started their family. And after that, their father Mark also played football at the University of Montana.

We can say, that Mitchell, Justin, and Patrick grew up listening to football stories of their father and grandfathers. The sports-loving atmosphere was perfect for them to see and achieve their dreams in the football world. In 2021, the family went to SoFi Stadium to meet their son on Thanksgiving. The QB posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, “Thankful for my family making the trip down to SoFi. Happy Thanksgiving!

The sweet relationship is a cherished one. The family has been his backbone during all these years. Fans are now waiting for Patrick at the NFL draft. Will the Herbert-to-Herbert connection happen in the big league? We’ll find out soon.
