The Kansas City Chiefs have momentum on their side. Ever since the Raiders franchise shifted their base from Oakland to Las Vegas, the Chiefs have a perfect 3-0 record at Allegiant Stadium. But this game is going to be even more special as the Super Bowl this year is also going to be held at the same stadium. This will be a chance for the Chiefs to experiment with the pitch and the general feel of the stadium. While they did lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Mini Bowl, they are still strong contenders for a playoff appearance.
If they make it to the Super Bowl this season, it will be their second consecutive Super Bowl playoff. However, it seems that dark clouds are looming over the Chiefs camp. A pattern that has remained true for 18 years, now threatens to cast a shadow on whether the Chiefs will lose their third consecutive game.

An 18-year pattern might upset the Chiefs’ Super Bowl dreams
The Chiefs’ offense, which was once touted as the best in the league, is now a far shot from its heyday. In the past three games, the Chiefs haven’t managed to score a single point in the second half. What’s more, they haven’t scored more than 31 points in the last 3 games against the Raiders.

After analyzing the last 18 games that the Las Vegas Raiders (formerly known as Oakland Raiders) have played against the Chiefs, a mysterious pattern has emerged. Since 2014, every winning game by the Raiders is followed by 5 losing games against the Chiefs. On January 7, the Raiders lost their 5th consecutive game against the Chiefs. This means that in Monday’s game, they might be poised to win.

If the Raiders win, the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII dreams might be thrown into jeopardy. But luckily for them, sports analysts think the Chiefs also have a chance of winning.

Why analysts are divided on which team will win
Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports wrote, “There could be more movement with this line after the Chiefs face the Eagles on Monday night, but K.C. is currently a 9.5-point road favorite over Las Vegas.” His reason was that their QB Aidan O’Connell is prone to throwing interceptions as he threw 3 in the game against the Miami Dolphins. On the other hand, this season, the Raiders are 4-1 whenever they have played at their home stadium.

Bill Speros, who writes for Bookies.com, said, “The Raiders have found life in the post-Josh McDaniels era. And Taylor Swift will be in Brazil.” He took a subtle jab at the fact that the Chiefs’ talisman, Taylor Swift, will not be there. Will the Chiefs manage to win regardless, or will the Raiders get the best of them?
