Can the Vikings survive Week Three without Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison? What's your take?

Hold onto your helmets, Vikings fans! Big news just dropped ahead of the showdown against the Texans. Minnesota’s ready to bring the heat, but they’ll need to navigate some tricky twists. What’s the latest on their roster?

NFL insider Adam Schefter lit up X with the scoop, revealing that Justin Jefferson’s off the injury report and ready to hit the field. That’s right, the star wideout’s cleared the way for a big game. But nope, it ain’t all rainbows and butterflies for the Vikings. Schefter also reported that Jordan Addison will be sitting this one out. “Vikings are not listing Justin Jefferson on this week’s injury report for Sundays game vs. the Texans, but Minnesota has ruled out WR Jordan Addison,” his tweet read.

Insider Tom Pelissero quickly backed this up, confirming Jefferson’s availability, but Dallas Turner’s out with a knee issue. “#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (quad) is off the injury report and good to go Sunday vs. Houston. WR Jordan Addison (ankle) and edge Dallas Turner (knee) are out.”

So, what does this mean for Minnesota? The Vikings will have their three-time Pro Bowl WR in action for a critical Week 3 matchup against the undefeated Texans. Jefferson exited last week’s game against the Niners early with a quad contusion, but he was confident he’d be back. After the game, he reassured fans, “I’m feeling good. We got the win… I’m not seriously injured. So it’s just all about getting to the training room, and I’ll be ready to go next Sunday.”

The LSU product lit it up against San Fran—four catches for 133 yards and a 97-yard TD. That kinda firepower? No wonder he’s the highest paid non-QB ($140M deal!) Minnesota’s unexpected 2-0 start’s been driven by Sam Darnold’s solid performance, throwing for 476 yards and four TDs. With Jefferson back in the mix, Darnold’s got a reliable target as they face a tough Houston defense.

As they gear up for this key matchup, all eyes will be on Justin Jefferson to keep the momentum going. Jordan Addison may be out, but it’s time for others to shine!

Vikings’ Jordan Addison out again

Have an interesting take?

Just when you thought the injury saga couldn’t get wilder, Jordan Addison’s out. Again. Per St. Paul Pioneer Press’ Dane Mizutani, the rookie WR had some ankle issues—and won’t be hitting the field. This marks his second straight absence.

Coach Kevin O’Connell did offer a sliver of optimism, telling Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling that Addison’s “in a good place.” But is he in a good enough place for the Week 3 showdown? Nope. But he might just make a comeback for Week 4 against the Packers. For now, the spotlight shifts to Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell. These guys will be stepping up alongside Justin Jefferson.

If we were to talk about WR Jordan Addison’s stats—he was impeccably impressive. 70+ receptions, 900+ yards, and 10 solid TDs. Last year against the Niners? Seven catches for 123 yards and two TDs. But it’s not all hip-hip-hurrahs! Addison’s facing potential NFL discipline for a July DUI incident.

With Addison out, the Vikings will rely heavily on Jefferson to keep the fire burning. Can Jefferson and the crew light up the scoreboard against Houston? It’s time that’ll tell the very tale, whether it’s a hit or destined to pale.
