When the Chiefs snagged Hollywood Brown in 2024, fans were hyped, envisioning a dynamic duo with Mahomes that would light up defenses. But nah, fate had other plans. One preseason hit, and boom—he was pretty much a ghost all season. It was like casting a star actor in a blockbuster, only for them to miss the premiere. The Chiefs’ offense adapted, but the anticipation of Brown’s full potential remained a lingering question mark.
Fast forward and the guy’s making a return for his second season in KC. Will he bounce back? Why not? Is he confident about that? Absolutely. As per Charles Goldman of A to Z SportsNFL, the 27-year-old wide receiver recently mentioned that he didn’t really get a chance to show who he is on the field because of the injury last year. “The impression that I left is something I really want to show the whole Chiefs Kingdom,” Brown stated.

Let’s call it what it is—for quite some time, the Chiefs’ front office was stuck in limbo, whether to sign Brown or not. The reason? Simple as that—they’ve already invested in him last season ($11 million for one season) to bolster their O-line that had the rookie Xavier Worthy, second year WR, Rashee Rice, and the veteran TE, Travis Kelce. But nah, the guy suffered a seemingly season-ending sternoclavicular injury in the preseason.
However, just when everyone thought that Brown wouldn’t even manage to play a snap for the Chiefs, the wideout recovered and played the last couple of games in the regular season, catching 9 passes for 91 yards. And if you’re thinking that the WR had a blockbuster cameo in the playoffs—yeah, not exactly. In fact, Brown just caught 5 passes for 50 yards. The kicker?
The Chiefs offered him a $11 million contract extension. But let’s be real—if not for his injury, Brown would have surely added depth to the Chiefs receiving corp. Sure, he had a couple of underwhelming season for the Cardinals before landing in KC (118 passes for 1,283 yards and just 7 TDs), but we just can’t ignore his breakout season for the Ravens back in 2021.
Call it the peak of his career or just straight-up magic, but the guy was a walking highlight reel that season—hauling in a career-high 91 catches for 1,008 yards with the Ravens. Safe to say, the Chiefs wouldn’t mind a little déjà vu from Hollywood’s 2021 bag. After all, the wideout wants to show his potential to the whole Chiefs’ Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ latest signee is looking to start in the 2025 season for the KC.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Hollywood Brown finally shine with Mahomes, or is he just another overhyped player?

The Chiefs’ new left tackle ready to start?
Coming after recording yet another impeccable regular season (finishing 15-1), the Chiefs offense was exposed in the Super Bowl, and that’s the cold truth. Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions (including a pick-six by Cooper DeJean), was sacked a record-six times (highest in his career for a single game), and completed just 21 of 32 passes for 257 yards. That means only one thing: the team needs to make some moves in the offseason.
They did make some moves when they signed the fifth year left tackle, Jaylon Moore, on a two-year $30 million contract. And guess what? The 27-year-old LT recently stated that he’s ready to take the starting role for the Chiefs. “The tape doesn’t lie. I know it’s a small sample size. . . They see something in me. I’m excited to go balls to the wall for these guys,” he stated as per Charles Goldman. But the big question’s probably still looming over the Chiefdom’s heads: is he really ready to take the starting role?

Well, he could be a starting LT considering Joe Thuney has packed his bags and left for the Chicago Bears. However, his inexperience as a starting LT could raise questions about his readiness for the role. The reason? See, the 49ers drafted Moore with 155th overall pick back in 2021 NFL draft.

Since then, the guy has been a backup QB for the San Francisco team. Moore appeared in 55 games for the Niners and started just in 12 (5 in the last season). So yeah, Andy Reid and Co. would consider his inexperience before handling him the starting role. The silver line? Well, the 27-year-old LT has been a backup to one of the best tackles in the NFL, Trent Williams.

On top of that, the ESPN Chiefs Reporter Adam Teicher believes that the Chiefs need Moore to be a starter for his position in the 2025 season. “Moore has mostly been a backup in his four NFL seasons, all with the San Francisco 49ers,” Teicher said. “He played in 55 games in the four seasons, with only 12 starts. Five of those starts came in 2024. Is he going to be a clear upgrade over Suamataia or Morris, who are both still under contract to the Chiefs? The Chiefs need him to be.”
At the end of the day, Andy Reid and Co. still have to choose if they want to go ahead with Moore as their starting LT or they’d want to draft a rookie in April. But a couple of things are pretty certain: Jaylon Moore is confident about his readiness as a key starter, and Patrick Mahomes is surely getting a depth in his offense.
