In a play that’d make even the slickest receiver’s head spin, Antonio Brown has gone from throwing shade to tossing compliments at Jason Kelce. This 180-degree turn spotlights the wild ride that is life after the NFL.

The latest chapter in this gridiron drama unfolded when Brown posted a video of a Kelce look-alike in a skimpy cop outfit, captioning it “Jason Kelce performing in Philly yesterday.” Kelce, proving he’s as quick-witted as he was off the snap, fired back: “Shit, I wish I could spit bars like that!”

Seemingly impressed by Kelce’s good humor, Brown responded with an unexpected compliment: “Cracker of the Day Legend!” It contrasts Brown’s usual social media antics, especially considering their history.

Just a month ago, Brown took a different tone when Kelce opened up about his CTE concerns. As MLFootball reported Kelce saying, “I mean I can virtually guarantee that I have CTE,” Brown couldn’t resist taking a shot. He reshared the tweet, adding, “First step is admitting it 🤝 #CTESPN.” This move, part of Brown’s controversial #CTESPN brand, didn’t sit well with fans.

Fans fired back, turning on the former Steeler faster than a QB under pressure. It highlighted the touchy subject of CTE in the NFL, with the Boston University CTE Center reporting a staggering 92% of former NFL players showing symptoms.

Adding to this narrative, Brown has been running routes on social media, and Kelce has been executing a different kind of game plan since retiring.

Jason Kelce’s post-NFL playbook from touchdown to takedown

Jason Kelce has been shedding pounds like he used to shed blockers. “I don’t want to get too small,” Kelce told GQ, revealing he’s lost nearly 20 lbs from his playing weight of 295. “My back already feels better. My knees already feel better,” he added, proving there’s life after the trenches.

But Kelce’s not just focused on slimming down. He’s beefing up his resume with gigs that’d make any retiree jealous. He’s set to join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, bringing his locker room insights to living rooms across America.

“Especially when we were growing up, this was the night that everyone thought of with football,” Kelce gushed on New Heights. “Now, I’m going to be on there with some incredibly talented people… It’s going to be a good time.”

And if that wasn’t enough, Kelce’s even got his own Jeopardy! category. The man who made the Tush Push famous got to flex his rap skills, deadpanning Salt-N-Pepa’s Push It as a clue. “I was a key part of our quarterback sneak known as the Tush Push,” Kelce explained on the show. “So I always smile knowingly when I hear their song, ‘Ah, push it, push it real good.'”

From trading blows on the field to trading quips off it, Kelce’s shown he’s got more moves than a running back in the open field. His ability to roll with the punches — whether they’re from opposing linemen or social media jesters — proves he’s still got the game long after the final whistle. As for Brown? Well, he might just be learning that in the game of life, sometimes the best play is to pass on the unnecessary roughness and throw a compliment instead.
