Drama is brewing in the Big Apple! Giants head coach Brian Daboll didn’t hold back when confronted with calls for his job, delivering a sharp five-word response that’s as bold as it is cryptic. Meanwhile, LSU standout Malik Nabers subtly stirs the pot with a sly jab at Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito, leaving fans buzzing about what’s next for the embattled franchise. Buckle up—this is a clash of egos and emotions you don’t want to miss.

When reporters asked Brian Daboll about firing calls and the plane flying above, the Giants’ HC simply replied, “Just control [what] you can control.” The plane spotting is not new. In another incident, when the Giants were about to face off against the Saints, a plane was spotted with a billboard on its tail reading: “MR MARA ENOUGH – PLZ FIX THIS DUMPSTER FIRE.”

Maybe it is the frustration of a die-hard (and wealthy) Giants fan. Nevertheless, the HC doesn’t seem to pay too much to his firing calls. But another player on the team may be driven by frustration, too.

Recently, when Malik Nabers was asked about QB Tommy DeVito, Malik said, “For him to come out here, he has been with the team for 3 weeks, 4 weeks.  It looked like he knew the offense just as a first-string quarterback. I mean, I pick up offense pretty slowly. But for him, to be out there, and talk about and give his chances on football. You know, trynna out there and [do] be of his ability. And try to get another win.”

Who doesn’t hate losing? Everyone does, right? So we get where Nabers is coming from. Even before this ‘dumpster fire’ situation, his main focus was the team’s disastrous condition this season.

Brian Daboll’s Giants: A Disastrous Season

What’s your perspective on:

Is Brian Daboll's cryptic response a sign of confidence or a desperate attempt to save face?

Have an interesting take?

Brian Daboll’s New York Giants have recorded only two wins this season—a catastrophe for the fans. The franchise did not expect this level of failure, but things took a strange turn, and the team’s structure collapsed piece by piece.

First and foremost, the Giants’ offense has been terrible. That’s one of the main reasons behind their losing streak. The lack of a strong quarterback has been a consistent issue for the team. NFL experts, along with the CEO, Mr. Mara, have suggested that the franchise will focus on selecting a quality, dependable quarterback in the April 2025 NFL draft.

In addition, the Giants are facing some financial issues at the organizational level, but that isn’t the primary reason for their bad season. New York fans are already looking ahead to the upcoming season, as there’s no sign of redemption for the Giants this year.
