The Kansas City Chiefs‘ win at the Super Bowl for the second consecutive time, has sparked off multiple discussions about the players and the team’s staff in the future. One such speculation is head coach Andy Reid‘s retirement in the next few years and their defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo being the top choice as the HC successor.

The former Chiefs center, Tim Grunhard, expressed his admiration for Spagnuolo and predicted the DC’s transition to being a head coach for his previous home team. In a conversation on Sports Radio 810’s “The Border Patrol,” the NFL Hall of Famer talked about how revered the DC, belovedly called, ‘Spags’ is in the Chiefs.

“When Andy Reid retires, Spags is certainly going to be one of the guys they consider to be the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs when it’s all said and done. I think that’s the kind of respect he has around the league now. I think that’s the kind of respect he has from the organization. With that t re-signing of Spags, I think Andy’s got 2 or 3, maybe 4 more years last and I think Spags takes over right after that. I think that would be a great transition.”

Reid has recently denied all rumors of him retiring in 2024 during a press conference via ESPN. However, Spags still remains as the expected name to fill in Reid’s shoes when the time finally comes.
