Once again, the Chiefs are on the winning track! The team is looking to devote the majority of their pre-draft efforts to one strategy: offense. Everyone knows that Andy Reid was greatly appreciated last year for this thinking. After all, the Chiefs’ offense did prove to be impenetrable. The team was unstoppable at first, but several problems surfaced later. And just like every year, these are the issues that HC Reid hopes to address this season to allow QB Patrick Mahomes to glide in a safe pocket.
Andy Reid is well aware that Patrick Mahomes has firmly established himself as his number 1 QB. The man is undoubtedly the best in the world, but he too requires support in some situations. And if history is anything to go by then the team’s offensive line has previously failed to deliver. This is why Reid is all in to acquire one of the best offensive lines with outstanding OTs. And where can you get it besides the NFL Draft?

Some may be aware that a team is allowed 30 pre-draft visits to meet with players, and the Chiefs are using the majority of it to meet different OTs. Hmm, Andy Reid is really hooked! According to certain sources, the squad is interested in massive players like Anthony Belton from North Carolina State, Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan from Oregon State, Bryce Cabeldue from Kansas, and Esa Pole from Washington State. On top of the four of these outstanding rookies, the team has already met BYU LT Caleb Etienne. But why is the team focusing primarily on OTs?

Well, consider this: The Kansas City Chiefs have the 31st overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, correct? Obviously, the 30 teams who are picking before them will not allow any significant QB, WR, or CB to go for Kansas City. Thus, the team in the first round can choose any OT they want to get. On the bright side, this leaves Andy Reid with plenty of time to ponder everything through and choose the guy he surely wants. Everyone knows Reid’s checklist is long, and if the KC chooses any one of the OTs, there must be something exceptional about him.
Reports suggest that aside from these stars, the Chiefs can also choose Oregon’s left tackle Josh Conerly Jr. Speculations are that the team has big hopes for him, but nothing is definitive. And there’s another twist. The HC does not want his offensive line to be inexperienced either. So they are on the lookout for a jack of all to maybe lead the offensive line.

Andy Reid wants Jaylon Moore to play a significant role for the Chiefs
Surprise, surprise. The Chiefs’ decision to add Jaylon Moore to the roster wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card. There were various doubts about why the team made such a significant shift. If we talk about last year, then Moore appeared in 15 games, including five starts as a left tackle. The LT entered the field as Trent Williams’ substitute, but he made it a point to show his skills to the world. But even with him, there is one concern.
During his four-year tenure with the 49ers, the LT started only 12 games. If we look at it objectively, the OT undoubtedly can be affected by his inexperience in starting games. And who knows, maybe this could have a significant impact on the Chiefs.

This is why Andy Reid’s decision to go with a player like him was difficult for fans to swallow. Perhaps Reid noticed something that others do not, but given the direction the squad is currently taking, things look promising for Moore. The LT was offered a two-year contract worth $30 million, with a $21.24 million guarantee. This is an excellent contract for him, but he must also prove himself on the field. If the claims are true and the Chiefs do go with rookies, Jaylon Moore’s role will be too big.

The LT, who has 271 offensive snaps, including 259 at left tackle, can do wonders for Kansas City. And with him on the offensive line, who knows maybe Patrick Mahomes can fully show his wizardry. 2025 will be the Chiefs’ redemption year, and even Mahomes wants to make it big. The team would be very aggressive this year. After all, they are injured lions looking to reclaim what was theirs. Let us wait and see how Reid shapes the team from now on.
