“We’ll learn from this,” was one of the first things Andy Reid said after reflecting on the Chiefs‘ Super Bowl loss to the Eagles, and it looks like he’s already on that path. With last season in the rearview mirror, Reid is eyeing the future. The Chiefs are diving into the draft, ready to pump up their roster. Whether it’s boosting the O-line, snatching up fresh playmakers, or shoring up the defense, Reid is aiming to make the right moves. So, what’s on Reid’s draft agenda this year, and how will it shape the team’s future?
Well, to begin with, the one position that’s going to be crucial for the Chiefs is left tackle. I mean, it’s become pretty clear that the offensive line needs some help to keep Patrick Mahomes safe, and Reid’s all in on that. Matt McMullen tweeted what Coach Reid had to say about the left tackle spot: “We’re keeping [all possibilities] wide open there… We’re really digging in on what’s available in free agency and what’s possible in the draft… That’s definitely a position we’re looking at.”
Coach Reid regarding the left tackle position in 2025:
“We’re keeping [all possibilities] wide open there…[We’re] really digging in on what’s available potentially in free agency and what’s available in the draft…That’s a position that we’re looking at for sure.”

Well, this is a good sign, right? The Chiefs really need a left tackle, and Reid knows that exactly. Well, then who could he go for? The one big name that Reid can look towards is Minnesota’s Aireontae Ersery. I mean that fits, right? They really need a long-term solution for that position, and who better than a Kansas City native? Yes, Ersery is a Chiefs native and it will be a sort of homecoming for him if Reid decides to bring him. Well, this really looks like a match made in heaven, right?
With Reid focusing on the left tackle role, there still is one burning question: What’s the deal with Travis Kelce?
Well, there’s been a lot of chatter about Kelce’s future—and why not? Kelce is inarguably one of the best in the league and if he decides to leave? That will definitely not be good for the Chiefs. Fortunately, the Chiefs’ GM addressed it: “How we left it at the end of the season is that he was fired up. He has one more year left on his contract. I still think he has that fire and desire to play. As far as I’m concerned, there is no deadline. I think we left it as he’d be back. And we’re excited to get him back.” Surely those words must’ve brought a sense of relief for the Chiefdom!
So, if Veach is right, then Kelce is still in the game, and despite all the retirement talk, he’s not going anywhere just yet. That’s awesome news!! With one more year on his contract, Kelce’s set to remain a key player for the Chiefs in 2025. And as the Chiefs work to beef up their line, he can keep playing a major role in their offensive strategy.
The path is clear. A good left tackle and Kelce’s return could make the Chiefs a top team again. And they can take their revenge on the Philly team.

Does Andy Reid like the Eagles’ play?
If Reid and the Chiefs want to beat the Eagles, what is the first thing they need to do? Well, it’s simple, they need to counter their ‘ Tush Push’ play. The Eagles are undoubtedly the masters of this play. I mean, they have maximized it in the last few years and, frankly, some people do not like it. Well, there is bound to be some criticism, after success, right? But it’s to such an extent that one team requested the league to ban it. Yes, a team actually wants to ban the play!! According to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, the Packers made that request.
The question, though, is what does Andy Reid think? I mean, it was Reid’s team that the Eagles stopped from winning the three-peat. So, it makes sense if Reid would be against the play. Well, funnily enough, Reid was not against the play at all. He supported it so much that he even gave credit to the Eagles: “I understand how it can go both ways. I think it takes certain players to be able to do that. It’s not an easy thing for the center. I was close to their center, so I know that’s not an easy thing to do. My hat goes off to them for making it as consistent as they are doing it.” Well, who would have thought?

The Chiefs coach really admired how well the Eagles make that play, and even said: “Heck, if we could do it as effectively, I would probably do it too.”
The Chiefs are more focused on improving their roster, especially the offensive line, with a potential left tackle addition. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce’s return ensures a continued offensive weapon for Mahomes. As for the Eagles’ ‘Tush Push’, Reid’s admiration for the play adds another layer to the Chiefs’ offseason prep. With draft decisions and new strategies ahead, it’s clear that Kansas City is eyeing the future with one goal: a return to the top.
