Andy Reid’s squad etched their names in the annals of football history. They did this by clinching the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the second straight year. This feat was last accomplished by the New England Patriots in 2005. It happened after last month’s dramatic overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers. But he thinks the Niners are on the right track to winning more Super Bowls.
The Chiefs are currently one Championship behind the Niners’ tally of 5. But if San Francisco follows the advice shared by him, they might go on to win one more. And thereby become one of the three teams with the most Super Bowl wins.

Nick Wagoner, ESPN’s NFL reporter, took to X to share the counsel given to Shanahan by Reid. “Just keep doing what you’re doing and somewhere you pop over the hill there. I know he’s got a great young quarterback and him with a great young quarterback is deadly.”
Chiefs coach Andy Reid on #49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and getting over the hump to win a Super Bowl:

A few weeks ago as well, he had sympathized with Shanahan on a decision he had taken during the Super Bowl LVIII. When it came to Brock Purdy, the Chiefs’ HC was all praises. “A lot of respect for Brock. He’s just a good player. He sees the field. He’s got great accuracy. Great timing.” But it remains to be seen if the two can clinch their first Super Bowl together or not.
But Reid is not letting his recent back-to-back Super Bowl wins get to his head. Despite the media’s attempts to tag the Chiefs as a “dynasty”, he recently shut them down.

Andy Reid carefully sidestepped any suggestion of a burgeoning ‘dynasty’ under his tenure. Despite coaching back-to-back Super Bowl wins, Reid remains noncommittal to the dynasty narrative. Focused squarely on the upcoming season and the defense of their title, Reid shunned the tag saying, “It’s up to you to do the dynasty thing. I’m back to training camp and the meat and potatoes kinda thing. That’s where I go. I make sure the guys are back in shape. And that’s where we’ll roll.”
Additionally, the HC said that the tide could change at any moment. “Every year in the NFL is a new year. Every team is a different team. Don’t get caught up in too much of the fluff,” he advised. However, he has time to take his team there. With him going on 67, he said that retirement’s not on his mind either. On The Rich Eisen Show, Reid said, “No, not really.”
