Andy Reid is still standing strong. While the team and the Chiefdom were immersed in sorrow after their Super Bowl 3-peat dreams washed away in New Orleans, the HC is looking to the future. He has been their captain for the past 12 seasons. His former team, the Eagles, cruised to an easy win. However, the coach understands it’s not the time to let their ship drown in emotions. It’s the time to get the best reinforcements to right the sail. And he has taken his first step.

A source told CBS that the Chiefs are in contact with the Jackson State linebackers coach Chris Orr. The former Panthers linebacker has played only 3 games in the NFL. He tried his luck in the USFL & UFL, but to no avail, forcing him to become a coach.

He worked for Wisconsin as the director of player development in 2021. Last year, he joined Jackson State as their LB coach. He also confirmed this development with his response, “God’s Favor!! #ChiefsKingdom” Does Andy Reid believe they needed a better defense in the Super Bowl LIX? It might be.

They were nowhere in the game as the NFC side took a 34-0 lead in the first 43 minutes of the game. Now he’s looking to make sure that leak is plugged. Before the game, Andy Reid was confident of a victory. But when the Eagles fired their cannons, the leaks in the Chiefs were apparent for all to see. At halftime, Patrick Mahomes & co. only had 23 yards compared to 179 for their rivals. Ultimately, they lost their dreams. The three-peat quest turned into a tragic Titanic voyage.

However, the head coach doesn’t want his players to remain lost at sea. His post-game locker room message was inspirational.

Travis Kelce revealed what Andy Reid said after the Super Bowl defeat

When both teams met in Super Bowl LVII in 2017, it was an even game. Both teams fought hard, with the score difference never being more than 7 points. But on February 9, it was annihilation. The eagles rocked the Chiefs’ ship so hard that it was over before they even realized what was happening.

However, Andy Reid told his players to keep their head high above the water. According to Travis Kelce, the HC said, “This one’s going to hurt. Let it hurt. Figure out how to get better because of it.” That’s right. They still have plenty of years left in the tank, except perhaps the tight end who is already 36 years old.

After having been in cruise control for the best part of three years, the Chiefs have finally had the wind knocked out their sails. The questions are there. Everyone is wondering how long the HC and TE will remain in the league. But after being humbled, they will probably want at least one more chance at hitting flank speed again. It will be worth-watching.
