Yes, indeed they are. But… what could Andy Reid mean by that? Is he hinting at the unthinkable, Patrick Mahomes possibly changing teams? Well, let’s not get carried away just yet. While, Reid’s comment sounded emotional, especially with the excitement after securing the win and making it to the conference championship. You know, the QB isn’t going anywhere for a long time.

Mahomes signed a 10-year extension with the Chiefs in 2020, locking him in until the 2031 season. Yes, you heard that right. And the deal wasn’t just a couple of zeros on a check either; it was for $450 million, with potential incentives that could push it to $503 million. So, no, Reid wasn’t giving us a warning about Patrick leaving anytime soon. It’s just that emotional, “Wow, we’re lucky to have this guy” moment after a huge win.

Have an interesting take?

At one point, it looked like the Texans weren’t about to make it easy for the Chiefs. The Texans had just scored a touchdown in the late third quarter, pulling within one point of the Chiefs. Houston’s RB, Joe Mixon, broke through the defense and got them into the end zone. But they missed the extra point, leaving the score at 13-12. Houston was alive and kicking, and Chiefs fans had that nervous energy in the air. But then came the very next drive, and it was like Patrick Mahomes just knew how to settle everyone’s nerves. The play happened so quickly, it was hard to believe. Mahomes, under pressure and falling, managed to launch a perfect pass to Travis Kelce, who was right there in the end zone to catch it.

Touchdown Chiefs! The stadium went wild. It was one of those moments where you as a fan couldn’t help but jump up and yell. Even Andy Reid couldn’t hide his amazement, calling the throw “unbelievable.” And honestly, he is not wrong. While speaking to the media in the post-game conference, the Chiefs HC said, That touchdown throw to Trav was unbelievable. That play sealed the deal for the Chiefs and gave them some breathing room in a game that had suddenly gotten way too close for comfort. After that touchdown, Patrick Mahomes and Co. were leading by 8 points.

With this win, the Chiefs are back in the conference championship and just one step away from another Super Bowl. Patrick in Saturday’s game racked up 177 yards and scored a TD. Sadly, CJ Stroud and the Texans are heading home after a tough loss. It was a rough day for Stroud, not being able to find the end zone at all, but hey, there’s always next time. Now, it’ll be fun to see which other three teams make it to the conference championship. The playoffs are heating up, and it’s anyone’s game from here.
