“People had not been talking about how good our defense is… we got one of the top defenses in the entire league.” Jason Dunn really said it like it is. While folks were busy meme-ing Mahomes and zooming in on Kelce’s sideline reactions, the Chiefs‘ defense was out there smacking offenses like it was their 9-to-5. Ninth-best in total defense, barely letting teams breathe. And now? Andy Reid’s stacking even more heat—because apparently, a top-tier defense just wasn’t enough.
By now, it’s safe to say that this offseason, the Chiefs’ front office has been working overtime, especially for their D-line. They kicked things off by re-signing linebacker Nick Bolton to a three-year $45 million deal and DT Mike Pennel on a one-year deal, ensuring the heart of the defense remains intact. To top that off, they went shopping and snagged CB Kristian Fulton from the LA Chargers on a two-year $20M deal. And to make it more interesting, the Kansas City team signed the fifth-year DE Janarius Robinson on a one-year deal.
On Wednesday, Robinson, along with another veteran defender, Mike Edwards, officially signed their new contracts with the Kansas City Chiefs. While talking to the media about joining the Chiefs, Robinson confessed, “First, I just want to give a special thanks to (Chiefs Chairman and CEO) Mr. (Clark) Hunt, (Chiefs General Manager) Brett Veach, and then (Head) Coach Andy Reid for giving me this wonderful opportunity here at the Chiefs, It’s just about coming here, willing to work, put in the time, and necessary things to put myself in the best position to reach the potential and be the best player that I can be, and go out there and show what I can do.”

And that’s where things got pretty interesting. See, the Chiefs have been making waves with their offseason signing, there’s no doubt about that. But Robinson? Well, that’s the tricky part. I mean, the guy had a fair share of injury concerns and off-season drama. His rookie season in Minnesota in 2021 was wrapped up even before the regular season kicked off. Fast forward to the second year, and let’s just say the guy switched the jersey (Eagles), but his fate? Nope.
The guy was placed on injury reserve in his second season as well. The kicker? Well, now that the Chiefs have signed him to a one-year $1.1M contract deal, the guy’s confident about his injury concerns. “I’m 100% right now,” he said while speaking to the media when asked about his injuries. “I feel good, body feel good, healed up from you know nicks and bruises or whatever the case may be just ready to go to Kansas City and just show what I can do, and you know put it all together and be the player that I can be.”
Drafted by the Vikings back in the 2021 NFL draft, Robinson’s first two seasons in the league were cut short due to unspecified injuries. After playing in Minnesota and Philly, the guy was signed to the Raiders‘ practice squad in 2023. But if you’re thinking that his issues were just limited to injuries, think again. We’re talking about his last season in Las Vegas.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Patrick Mahomes ready to reclaim his MVP status after last season's Super Bowl debacle?
Have an interesting take?
The guy was suspended three games without pay for violating the NFL’s Substances of Abuse Policy. Yeah, that actually happened. During the 2024 season, Robinson just appeared in 10 games and started just 1. Along the way, the 25-year-old DE recorded 5 tackles and 0.5 sacks. And now, the guy’s heading to KC for the fifth season of his career—all fit and fine. No wonder Robinson and Andy Reid might be hoping for an injury-free season this year.
Meanwhile, it looks like the Chiefs’ QB has started preparing for the 2025 campaign.

Patrick Mahomes is back in action with a new update
Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid might not have gotten the fairy-tale ending of the 2024 season, but they are surely looking to bounce back and reclaim their throne. And why not? The team was expected to complete their three-peat. But nope. The Eagles said no and thrashed them with a decisive 40-22 win.
Cut to the present, and Patrick Mahomes is out there preparing to start his 2025 season with a bang. On Thursday, Mahomes took to his official IG handle and shared a clip of his passing throws on the field. “Back at it ⏰,” he captioned his post. The two-time MVP quarterback will kick off his 2025 season after an embarrassing performance in the Super Bowl LIX.

The guy looked more like a rookie against the Eagles than a two-time MVP. Two picks, one fumble, six sacks—Mahomes was running for his life. Safe to say, his performance in the Super Bowl felt less like a game, and more like an ambush. But as they say, let the bygones be bygones. Mahomes is now heading towards a new start, especially after spending downtime with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and kids.

Oh yes, the Mahomes household took a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Brittany shared a few pictures of their vacation on her IG handle, writing, “This was cool,” while tagging her husband. The couple spent some quality time with their daughter during the trip, Sterling, 4, and son, Bronze, 2. And now? Let’s just say family time is over for the QB as Patrick Mahomes is back to throwing some passes.
