It was the end! The Kansas City Chiefs fans, who were waiting for their heroes at Union Station, will not be able to see the Red team bringing Lombardi along with them. The three-peat hope and the wish to make history—all were crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles. Amidst all these, probably the most hurt is coach Andy Reid.

The Chiefs lost to the Eagles 22-40 in New Orleans. Andy Reid, who was shattered after the game, stepped up in the press conference to address the media. And all he was left with a heavy heart, as he expressed, “We spend a lot of time doing this. It’s not a hobby. We’re in it the whole way. Spent a lot of hours doing it, as players, as coaches. So it’s gonna hurt. They all hurt, when you get to this level, and these things happen, three-peat aside or any of that stuff. You get this far, and you don’t play as well as you want to, that hurts.

Indeed, it hurts. KC can feel it. Andy Reid’s team struggled to overcome the Eagles’s defense in their first half, or to be precise – from their first four-play possession. Then, when finally it was the moment to capitalize on time, Patrick Mahomes made a mistake. Uh… blunder, we meant!

Mahomes’s picked off moment just slipped the game from the Chiefs’s hands. In fact, their first touchdown came when they were already facing a 34-point deficit. Xavier Worthy caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from the 29-year-old. But, it was too late!

Andy Reid, who felt helpless at the sidelines, later expressed, “Today was a rough day. We didn’t really play well in any of the phases. I didn’t coach good enough. They (Eagles) did a nice job.” Reid took most of the blame for loss on himself. And with a melancholic mood, he tried to sum up his emotions for all the KC fans out there.
