Even if a superb player gets out to a rough start, everyone quickly turns against them. Travis Kelce recently experienced a similar circumstance, but the tight end was motivated to prove himself. If you don’t know, Kelce had only eight catches for 67 yards in the first three games. This was a terrible performance by a player like him. Due to this fans immediately turned against him, urging coach Andy Reid to bench him in week four.

But did it happen? Obviously not, since the head coach trusted in his player, and we all know what occurred on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs were brutal against the Chargers, winning 17-10. Following the intense game, HC Andy Ried talked about the Kelce situation in the post-game conference. The head coach stated that he has respect for Travis Kelce and is unconcerned about others’ opinions.

These were some bold statements from someone like Ried because no one expected him to be so straightforward. On the other hand, Travis Kelce proved himself in the game against the Chargers. He gave his best performance of this season and showed everyone that he still has it in him. On Sunday he caught seven passes for 89 yards which was great. Although he failed to reach the end zone. Aside from the above statements, Andy Reid also praised Kelce for this performance.

The Kansas City Chiefs want to make history by winning the Super Bowl for the third time in a row. That’s why the team is so serious and Reid doesn’t want to take any risks. Maybe that’s why Travis Kelce was even benched in week 3, but no reports claim these things.
