The NFL Draft is just around the corner and people have already made up their minds about where Jayden Daniels might land. The most popular contention here is that the Heisman winner might end up playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. There are reasons to support that claim, and that reason is Antonio Pierce, the HC of the Raiders, and the former associate head coach at ASU.

The QB went on Instagram Live with his receiver Malik Nabers and a few interesting details about a possible future trade came out. While nothing is set in stone, the viral video shows that people might be into the idea of Jayden Daniels re-uniting with his former coach Antonio Pierce.

The video from MLFootball speculates that Daniels might just go to the Raiders, and after listening to the conversation, one might be persuaded to believe the statement. Moreover, Nabers was assertive about his statement. In the video, Nabers said “I’mma tell you boys anyways, I’mma say where he going. And y’all never gon’ believe it. He might partner with his old homie.” Daniels was chuckling the whole time as if Nabers was trying to get his secret out to the public. “That’s what you’re gonna do?” asked Daniels to his receiver as he laughed it away.

It looked like the duo was just having a light-hearted conversation when the LSU receiver decided to give people what they wanted to know. While it was all fun and games over Instagram Live, there might be some truth to what the LSU WR said about Jayden Daniels. At the time the NFL Combine was going on, Daniels met with the Raiders and Antonio Pierce. A lot of teams would give up their resources to sign Jayden Daniels, and he is aware of it. But his bond with Pierce might create a bias, but in a good way.

Daniels and Pierce are ‘homies’ indeed

During the QBs time with Arizona State, where he played for 3 seasons, two of them came under Antonio Pierce. The Raiders are a quarterback-needy team, and it would be a perfect way to scratch each other’s backs, by uniting with the former coach Daniels played with. After the combine, the QB made a statement about reuniting with his former coach.

“It was great,” said Daniels to the media and added, “Obviously, going in there, I already knew Coach Antonio Pierce, but just overall, meeting the whole staff, meeting everybody else was great. Great energy, be able just to sit down and talk ball.”

The only problem here is that the Raiders have a 13 pick in the 1 round and by that time, Daniels may be gone. Unless of course, he declines to sign with other teams, or the Raiders make deals to move up a couple of spots. It would become clear on the first day of the draft. There have been surprising draft day trades in the past, so we never know what’s in store for the Raiders or Jayden Daniels.
