Can Odell Beckham Jr. save the Dolphins' season, or is it too late for a turnaround?

Injuries have taken a major toll on the Dolphins’ season as they find themselves on a losing streak of three games. Although their star QB Tua Tagovailoa continues to remain absent after his concussion against the Bills in week 2. There might be some good news for the Phins as three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. is slated to make his debut this week against the Patriots.

As Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel updates, “On a team that is very motivated to win a football game. I think he’s eager to try to help do that.” Well, this would be a huge boost for the Dolphins offense, which has struggled to get going this season. They need all the reinforcements they can get to crave a positive result from New England this week.

But considering Beckham’s return four months after joining the Dolphins, it wasn’t simple to begin with. After getting his knee operated on, the Dolphins WR was added to the physically unable to perform list (PUP). Considering the $8.25 million contract he signed this summer for one year, this was nothing less than a selfless act. As the 31-year-old shared, “I hate the feeling of walking around this building, and you’re hurt, and PUP list means I can’t practice with the team. But for me, it was a selfless act because if I’m not on the PUP list. I’m taking up a roster spot, which means I’m taking someone else’s job, and I’m not doing anything.”

Amid Odell’s absence from the beginning and Tua’s injury, the Dolphins haven’t had the greatest of starts. They have only managed to put up more than 20 points once, and that too during the first week. Considering their last few weeks’ clashes, they reached 12 points once while struggling on the offensive side.

Well, their struggles were so evident that star receiver Tyreek Hill himself has only racked up 17 catches for 217 yards after four games. His poor numbers and the Phins failing to control their games got the better of him, as he was caught having an outburst last week. This even led to trade rumors swirling around the Miami beaches as Hill decided to address those himself.

When asked to express his thoughts about trade speculations away from the Dolphins, Hill shared, “I’m just focused on right here, right now. We got a beautiful team here, and I want to be a part of it.” He had a big smile while downplaying his chances of joining any other franchise this year.

But how come Hill’s beautiful vacation in Miami has got the NFL talking about him going elsewhere? Well, on going back last week, you could find Cheetah shouting at the Dolphins coaching staff as the Dolphins had a dismal time on the field. His four catches for 23 yards were pretty low, considering the output he produces week in and week out.

Even last season, after four games, the Dolphins WR notched up four touchdowns and 470 yards, which is nowhere near the numbers this season. After skipping media duties last week, Hill addressed that situation, expressing, “I wouldn’t refer to it as shouting. That’s just me motivating my teammates. I was simply telling 25 (RB Jaylen Wright) that we need more of that, because he had a great run toward the end of that game.”

Tua’s backup, Tyler Huntley, severely underperformed as he finished with just 78 yards last week in Miami. This makes us question whether Hill is really all in on the Dolphins squad or if he secretly wants to escape from this offensive mess. For now, we don’t know, but moving forward, we might have some breaking news as the receiver room receives a major boost after Odell Beckham Jr returns.
