Many kids, especially boys, dream of becoming NFL players when they grow up. After all, who doesn’t want fame, and a truckload of money? But the current batch of NFL players don’t just want to earn for themselves and their families but want to give back to society in a big way as well. The NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” program helps these players wear their hearts on their feet and allows them to pick a cause that is important to them and represent it on their cleats.
After the 27-19 upset at the hands of the Green Bay Packers, two players, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, have joined other team members in the noble cause espoused by the “My Cause, My Cleats” program.

TE Travis Kelce also has his foundation, “87 & running” which aims to empower the disadvantaged youth of America by providing resources and support to their communities and helping in developing their talents. Creed Humphrey, the Chiefs offensive lineman, has thrown his weight behind “KC Pet Project” which cares for over 14,000 animals a year and also works in tandem with other animal welfare organizations towards pet adoption, retention, identification, reunion, and so on.
Cornerback Trent McDuffie meanwhile supported Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, which serves 91 families on any given night and provides them with care and supportive services. Coming back to the star QB, his foundation recently organized its annual event and gave away more than half a million in donations.

Busy night turns into much-needed family time
Ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles game, on November 10, the Mahomies foundation organized its 4th annual dinner at The Midland Theatre in Kansas City. The event saw $600,00 being distributed among various charitable organizations. And what’s more, Travis Kelce was also present at the event before flying out the very next day to meet his beau in Argentina. Amid the grueling NFL schedule, the Mahomes family rarely gets to spend time together. But on that night, all of them were there at the same place and that prompted Randi to say, “May have been with a few hundred other people but still we were altogether.” With just two months to go before the NFL culminates in the Super Bowl, Momma Mahomes will need to wait still longer before she gets to see more of her celebrity son.
