Physically, I am not [attending the game in Detroit]. After our amazing, amazing live show [on Sept. 7 in Detroit], I’m going to hop on a plane and head home so I can watch it with my daughters here, so that’s the plan.” Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, made it clear last season that she and her daughters will watch the QB and his Los Angeles Rams from their home despite being in Detroit. As previously revealed, a live show on September 7th caused this. But this incident revived the previous heartbreak among fans.

The heartbreak? Yes, this decision of Matthew Stafford’s wife came after she and her children were booed by the Lions’ fans at a game earlier. Nevertheless, despite that, Kelly Stafford is keeping this bitter relationship somewhat sweet. How? On Tuesday, Matthew Stafford’s partner shared a story on her official Instagram account.

In this new update, Kelly Stafford posted a banner for an event that is scheduled to take place at Suburban Collection Showplace. It is actually a gala which is going to kick off on April 12, from 6 to 10 PM. Announcing this news, the YouTuber requested the Detroit population, “And Detroit friends, go to their gala on April 12th!” So, what is it all about?

Well, it’s—In the Spirits of Infertility—which is a fundraising gala event hosted by the Chosen Fertility Group. The motto is pretty clear. They are coming up to make people aware of the infertility issues. In addition, it will be to offer financial support for the couples who are dealing with fertility challenges. So, Matthew Stafford’s wife wants the Detroit friends to attend the event for a philanthropic cause. Interesting!

Infertility isn’t the only issue that Matthew Stafford and his wife have shown concern about. In addition to that, the couple has also served many philanthropic causes. Ah, how can we forget their $1 million donation for SAY Detroit Play Center? They helped Detroit that time to build a new annex at Lipke Park in Detroit with the money. Why? For an educational center, for the young generation.

Matthew Stafford and Kelly have been prominent supporters of the development of Detroit. But still, they have to face hate when they come to play against the Lions. Perhaps, this year, the Rams and the couple hope for a better welcome.

Last year, in the Wild Card round game in January 2024, when the Rams lost to the Lions, the whole Detroit crowd booed Matthew Stafford and his family. This fumed Kelly, who expressed, “It’s sports. The city wants to win. Everything is fair game. Except the fans who booed my children.” She even revealed that this booing atmosphere made her children cry.

Of course, booing at someone is common nowadays in the NFL. But booing at the family members or WAGs, just like in Taylor Swift’s case, too, isn’t morally and ethically correct. So, this time, when the QB will meet the Lions once again, Kelly might have been hoping that there will be no booing. But we all know that the contracts and the NFL fans do not come with any guarantee, especially when they are hailing for their home team.

Nevertheless, at least for now, we know that the Lions and the Rams will meet again in 2025. Although the date hasn’t been released, some rivals’ names have already come out. Besides Lions, Matthew Stafford and the team will face NFC West teams – San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals. But along with them, they will also be competing against the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts. However, before all these, one question still lingers: Will Stafford remain in the team this time?
