It all started in September 2023. Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella, noticed she was walking in a zigzag pattern instead of walking straight. At first, she thought it was vertigo, but when nausea and other symptoms got aggressive, her twin sister, Sophia, pushed her to go to the emergency room. After receiving the diagnosis of medulloblastoma (a cancerous brain tumor), she was instantly admitted to a Los Angeles hospital where she underwent brain surgery.
In her documentary ‘Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer’, Dr. Michelle Israel stated that the prognosis was not good. “She was actually in danger of having a seizure, having a stroke, and potentially dying,” Israel shared. But after multiple chemotherapy and radiation sessions and several brain surgeries, Isabella Strahan was declared cancer-free in July 2024. And just a month later, she returned to college. “I love getting to be able to go to classes with people my age and I just joined a sorority, so it’s been great to meet so many new people and really feel like I have a college experience again,” she revealed in February. While she will continue to be monitored by doctors, she aims to regain weight and strength as well as work on her balance.
Throughout this ordeal, Isabella’s family stood beside her. However, her recollection of the recovery period was foggy. She even had to learn how to walk all over again and so, as a father, Michael Strahan shared how difficult it was for him to see his daughter deal with the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. “I always say she’s a lot stronger than I am,” the father of four once said. Isabella, who is now 21, has learned a lot throughout this difficult journey, and on March 1, she appeared on the ‘Beyond the Battlefront’ podcast to share her thoughts on her progress and mindset. She stated:

“One thing I tell myself is move. Move yourself and drink a lot of water like all the health stuff but also I feel like to stay positive. Don’t think only about the bad things. But [earlier] I was not so positive. I was not so positive about how I thought about the worst things that could happen. I think that’s pretty detrimental or like going through the loophole of every like, bad stuff.
“I think I always like have an open positive mindset, not to show yourself off like ‘this is the end, like life is never gonna get better’. I definitely was that person and now I am trying to be like, see how I should not be that person because I don’t think you can ever just say ‘life will never get better and I will be never be the same’. Like, maybe I will never be the same person, but I think it’s a new person, and there’s so many new things are there so I think it’s great, so kinda just appreciating like where I am right now.”
Today, she is back on track and is continuing with her education. Back in August 2024, Isabella shared on social media that she was “back at USC.” Later on, she posted a TikTok video where she was seen jumping and dancing around in her new off-campus apartment. “New apartment who this,” she captioned it.

Michael Strahan reveals how he will meet his daughter’s boyfriend for the first time!
Everyone knows that Michael Strahan’s show Good Morning America is always packed with laughter. But the episode of March 6 was a bit more special, when Roy Wood Jr. was invited to the show. Strahan and Roy had a hearty conversation about each other’s families and their kids as well. And during this chat, things took an interesting turn when the NFL legend revealed Isabella has a boyfriend now.
As the crowd broke into oohs and aahs, Roy went ahead adding an ‘uh-oh’ to their chatter and asked Strahan, “Are you one of them Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Bad Boys, intimidate the boyfriend when you meet him?” Well, Strahan had an interesting answer to this question.
He admitted to having done it before with his oldest daughter Tanita’s boyfriend. And so, “I’ve got to tone it down,” he confessed. “But I do size them up.” At the same time, he also confessed that he wanted to be the kind of father whose kids felt comfortable bringing their partners home.
That’s not it. There were some more interesting details revealed about his twin daughters’ love life. Strahan mentioned how he didn’t want to be as intimidating with Isa’s boyfriend since he is a part of a baseball team. Adding more to that, he even admitted how Isa’s twin Sophia’s boyfriend is also a part of some baseball team.“I don’t know where the baseball players came from!”

He explained, “But these are some big kids! I’m not going to lie to you, Roy.” Not only that, but the NFL veteran made an amusing comment here admitting he should hit the gym daily; Just so he could come off as intimidating just in case things went South or if Isa’s bf ‘acted up.’ The comedian had a fun reply to Strahan saying, “That’s not Big Papa behavior! That’s young granddaddy behavior.”
While there is no concrete information on any of the sisters’ boyfriends, certain rumors do exist. In January 2025, Isabella was spotted with a professional boxer and this started a few relationship speculations. However, no update came after that day. But now that Strahan has confirmed they both are a part of some baseball teams, these rumors don’t make much sense.
