The Cleveland Browns had a successful outing this Christmas as they defeated the Houston Texans 36-22 on the road. But apart from this thumping victory, there is one more reason to celebrate for the Browns. Their WR, Amari Cooper, has just made an illustrious record, getting his name amongst the legends of the game.
It looked like the Browns were imploding when their QB1 Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending injury. But the veteran QB, Joe Flacco, has not only steadied the ship but is taking it deep into the playoffs zone as well. And WR Cooper has benefited from this veteran’s approach.

Jerry Rice achieved a great feat when he recorded 200+ yards from wide receiver position in four different games between 1985-2005. Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions broke the record after getting five 200+ yards games from 2007 to 2015. And now a new name has entered this grand record holder’s club, that of Amari Cooper.

Cooper had a magnificent game against the Texans, and his stats prove that. Receiving the ball 11 times while scoring 2 TDs, but most importantly, gaining a whopping 265 yards. This is the fourth time in his career that he has done that.
The 29-year-old had his first ever 200+ yard game for the Browns, leveling with the great Jerry Rice. Certainly, the introduction of QB Flacco has been beneficial for the WR as he recorded his best numbers with him. But both Flacco and Cooper must know that the job is not yet done.
The Browns look for the playoffs
Placed in the tough AFC North division with the best team in the entire league, the Baltimore Ravens, will be tough for any team. But the Browns have shown their class all season long despite the injuries. With a record of 10-5, they are currently the favorites to clinch the wildcard spot for the playoffs.

Sitting at a comfortable 5th place in the AFC with a 99% chance of getting through. But the Browns cannot afford to get too comfortable, as in the football world anything can happen. And the Browns wouldn’t want their chances to be dependent on the results of other teams.
