After more than a decade of waiting, it is finally here. The extremely successful video game series makes a return to our homes once again. So it should come as no surprise that the trailer for the sixth installment of GTA has garnered a ton of attention and views. In the process, the game beat its NFL competition, despite Swift’s presence.
GTA VI has no competition

This year’s Thanksgiving game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders put up astonishing numbers. Beating the meeting between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets, which had 27 million views, with Swift in the audience. The Cowboys game had 41 million viewers, but all that looks pale in comparison to Rockstar Games’ magnum opus.
They released the previous part of this acclaimed series in November 2013. Since then, it has not only become the highest-grossing video game of all time. But has surpassed any film, book, or music in terms of revenue. Raking in more than $8 billion over the past 10 years. And now Rockstar Games is back to break more records.
While it may seem unfair that traditional views are put up against online views. But it’s a battle for the viewers’ attention and the online medium has a huge advantage. With even the breakdown of the game’s trailer going viral. Rockstar Games, it seems, has another winner as well.
GTA VI has big shoes to fill
Last year was plagued by the in-development footage of the GTA VI and eventually, the long-awaited trailer got leaked. With a track record of delivering success after success, the hype for this game is unreal. Especially since it is following the fan-favorite Red Dead Redemption 2. But can Rockstar games plug away the problems?
