Currently, the Kansas City Chiefs are playing against the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany. A venue that portrays the Chiefs’ CEO and Chairman Clark Hunt, along with his management, as fully committed to their global outreach agenda. This entails seizing an opportunity to play outside the US in order to establish a strong presence in Europe. However, there is much more to this step than what meets the eye.

Clark Hunt has participated in numerous events organized by the Chiefs in Frankfurt enthusiastically. In the NFL world, this has been seen as Clark’s attempt to follow in the footsteps of his parents’ vision, especially his father Lamar Hunt, who aimed to expand the NFL’s reach beyond the USA. This reality has been coming forth for the CEO, sadly, five months after the demise of his mother, Norma.

After assuming responsibility for their sports empire from his father, Clark Hunt quickly grew out of his father’s shadow and established himself as a prominent leader in the field of sports. During his tenure as Chiefs’ CEO, the team not only reached new heights like winning the Super Bowl after 50 years, but in the last four seasons, they have won two Super Bowls as well.

However, that is not the only highlight about this CEO. He is also an active participant when it comes to International Committee. In fact, just like his dad, Clark is striving hard to establish NFL in foreign domains. The prime example of this is the ongoing game between the Chiefs, who have been designated as the home team in Frankfurt.

As per reports, the Chiefs have invested a million dollars in fan events and other preparations, one of which includes the “ChampionShip” yacht, decked out in Chiefs’ thematic d?cor and docked at the Main River. On this yacht, Clark, who is mostly a reserved person, could be seen meeting people and interacting with fans, an evident indication toward promoting the team on global level.

This seems like the Chiefs have adopted a strategy of aggressive marketing to capture markets outside of the US. Also, it promotes the clear ambition of becoming a global team, and this is even more evident from their president Mark Donovan’s remarks. He said, ?Based on the timing, the success and the stars, it?s a responsibility to take advantage of this. If we don?t aggressively take advantage of this, that?s a failure.?

While the son, Clark Hunt, seems to be on this mission of stretching the hype of American football internationally, it is important to note that this vision had been initially followed by his dad. Both of Clark’s parents have a crucial role to play in the development of the fantastic game that the fans enjoy today.

For those fans who might be new to the sport, Lamar Hunt, Clark’s father, was a co-founder of the American Football League (AFL). Not only just initiation but he also played a crucial role in the merger of the AFL and NFL in 1970. Lamar’s significant contribution to the evolution of football is evident in what we now know as the NFL. After the 1962 season, he relocated his team, the Dallas Texans, to Kansas City, and well, the rest is history.

While his dad already was a prominent figure in the NFL arena, his mom, Norma wasn’t far behind her husband. She was deeply involved with their family’s sports empire, the Chiefs, and the MLS soccer team FC Dallas. In fact, she is the only woman to have attended all 57 Super Bowls in league history.

Alas though, Clark’s mother, died at the age of 85 this year in the month of June. Her role in football was captured through the documentary ‘A Lifetime of Sundays.’ This highlighted the essence of how beautifully she always stood by her husband and son, which has been one of the key factors in the success of the Hunt family.
