Travis Hunter wants to be the No.1 draft pick in the NFL and, well, given his performance in college football, it seems very likely it will happen. The question now is which position will he play in the NFL. Well, Hunter for his part, wants to be a two-way player, and while no one denies his incredible talent and performances for the Buffaloes, the question remains: will he be able to do it in the NFL?
Well, for someone who has seen how he has performed for the Buffaloes, it seems easy enough. Well, not everyone thinks that though, AJ Brown recently shared some thoughts on the Hunter and on him being a ‘two-way player’, and well he was a bit skeptical.
While talking on KickinItWithDee, Brown said, “It’s going to be tough for him… I’m not saying he can’t do it, because who am I to tell him he can’t do anything, but he’s got a lot of work ahead of him. It’s gonna be so tough, it’s a lot of plays, it’s a long year and he’s gonna have to practice.”

You can tell just by watching Hunter play that he’s extraordinary. I mean, when you look at him move on the field, making those incredible plays, it is clear that he is a generational talent. And well, till now, he hasn’t disappointed now has he? The 21-year-old has proven himself as someone who can do it all. I mean, just look at his accomplishments. He is the only player in history to win both the Chuck Bednarik and Fred Biletnikoff awards. Yes, the only one in history. That itself proves just how good he is. He can attack, he can defend, what more does one want?
Well, so why are people doubting him? It’s simple, right? The question is not on Hunters’ talent but on the difficulty of the NFL. The question remains whether he can translate that success to the NFL. And honestly, it does not look so easy, even for a talent like Travis Hunter.
For now, though, everything else takes a backseat; Hunter’s top priority is to be drafted high in the NFL draft. And well, why would there be any doubt about that? I mean, Hunter is a generational talent and every team would want to get him in, right? Well, it seems not. Apparently, Hunter’s draft stock recently took some hit and, well, that is not good news for him.
According to NFL Rookie Watch, “Travis Hunter reportedly ‘has a small chance’ of slipping out of the Top 5 picks, despite being one of the most generational prospects of recent memory. Several NFL scouts reportedly believe the top 5 could realistically be ‘composed of’ 3 QBs, Abdul Carter, and an OT/WR.”
It is surprising. To hear that a talent like Hunter might not even be among the top 5 draft picks is not something many would have expected. Well, that is the nature of the sport. And frankly, this does not diminish Hunters’ talent but just highlights the team’s needs.
It is clear that many teams require a QB, and well, this might mean Hunter gets pushed down the draft pick. Well, who would have thought?

Can Travis Hunter play as a quarterback in the NFL?
If you’ve seen Hunter in action, his versatility is undeniable. No matter what you say, Hunter is undeniably talented. He excels as both a wide receiver and a cornerback. It’s simply remarkable. However, a new question has been raised: can he also play quarterback? It’s an intriguing thought, isn’t it? A fan thought so, too.
In the latest episode of his show, Hunter was asked how he would respond if a coach wanted him to play quarterback. Given Hunter’s confidence in his skills, his answer feels predictable; the 21-year-old replied, “I’d just go out there and play.” Now, that’s confidence!

Hunter is someone who has excelled at every position on the field. That said, which position do you think he is best at? Well, frankly, he shines more in that cornerback role than as a wide receiver. But hold on, even though that might be true, it should not mean that he only plays corner in the NFL. It should be his call where he wants to play and ultimately of the team that he plays for. For the rest of us, it will be amazing to see him play in the NFL, wherever he does.
What will be Hunter’s future, we can not say, but one thing is sure, he is a player to keep an eye on. No matter what position he plays in the NFL, he’s a prospect worth following for many years ahead.
