How could you have ever doubted Jalen Hurts? Weren’t there talks of his availability for Sunday’s NFC Championship game because of the knee injury he suffered last week? Well, he left those conversations in the dust by producing a masterclass, knee brace notwithstanding. Yes, not even his partially recovered knee could have stopped Hurts from playing his second Super Bowl in three seasons. And that shows the mentality Hurts carries on his shoulders, as pointed out by AJ Brown.
Brown, who didn’t get going for the first two playoff games despite being targeted 10 times, had a memorable afternoon on Sunday. Hurts brought back that connection with his No.1 receiver, finding him 6 times on 8 throws for 96 yards. And you know what made it more special? Brown scored his first TD in the playoffs to turn around his postseason woes. Even after the game, when it was time to share their thoughts. AJ told the media that he always knew that Hurts was destined for greatness.
Going back in time to the first time they worked out together running up the hills in the rain at 5 am, Brown stated, “Told me everything I needed to know.” He also pointed out his bond with Hurts and DeVonta Smith as they booked their second trip to the Super Bowl together. Like words right now would fail to describe what Jalen Hurts pulled off against the Commanders.

With a Super Bowl berth on the line and critics waiting to jump on any mistake by Jalen Hurts, he didn’t just silence them. Hurts simply vanquished any criticism of his plays. 55 points—the highest ever by a team in a conference championship game. And that was only possible because of one man. His 246 passing yards, one TD through the air to Brown, and three on the ground were enough to send the Commanders hype train back to Washington.

Well, seeing how Jalen Hurts guided the Eagles amid all the heat and criticism he faced only made Nick Sirianni feel prouder of his star QB.
Nick Sirianni wants Jalen Hurts haters to take notice
Remember when the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2017? Yeah, it’s almost a decade since the Phillies hoisted the Lombardi. It was their first and only one thus far. They came close to winning another in 2022, led by none other than Jalen Hurts. But ended up falling short to the Chiefs at the final hurdle. And within a space of two seasons, the Eagles are again back on the grandest stage for their 5th shot at the Super Bowl. Some of you could say Saquon Barkley’s arrival in the team proved to be a major factor in where they currently stand. You know what? No one would contradict your admiration for a running back who just scored 5TDs in the postseason to lead the Eagles into the Super Bowl.

However, you just can’t keep Jalen Hurts out of the conversation. Questions were raised after he threw for less than 150 passing yards (average) and only 2 TDs alongside 1 rushing TD in his first two playoff outings. He came up big when the Eagles needed him the most with 4 TDs (3 rushing). As Sirianni said in his post-game pressers: “How about our quarterback? He’s a stud. I knew he was going to play that way. I knew it. Don’t doubt him. All he does is win.” See, doubt shouldn’t be the word that anyone should ever use for Jalen Hurts, at least from now until Super Bowl LIX. And if he does manage to win it, then you know what will happen. Hurts will do down in Phillies folklore while cementing his legendary status, silencing his doubters once and for all.
