In the 2023 NFL season, Aaron Rodgers continued to make headlines until the season concluded, despite not playing. In the 2024 offseason, it was speculated that he would showcase some of his throws and workouts, depicting himself as ready for the next gig. However, since the offseason began, he has once again been hitting the headlines, probably more than during the game season, and that too on non-football topics.

In January, Rodgers faced a controversy and reportedly fell into anunintentional” banter with comedian Jimmy Kimmel. And now, this time, he is surrounded with political news and his rumored VP candidature. While many believed that Rodgers might be interested in joining politics along with his football career, some scrapped the news calling it baseless. Among those some, one analyst is Colin Cowherd and John Middlekauff, who gave a brutal reality check to the four-time MVP.

Aaron Rodgers shouldn’t head to politics?

In a latest episode of The Colin Cowherd Podcast, Cowherd and ‘3 & Out‘ host John Middlekauff discussed the credibility of the CNN report about Aaron Rodgers being a VP nominee. Cowherd pointed out that it seemed more like a tactic to push the Packers into making moves. Middlekauff expressed, “That’s an insane thing to report. if I was Aaron Rogers, I’d be pissed like half the people in the media tweeting like, give me no one knows like that’s extreme the VP thing.” However, the reporter also doubted the likelihood of Rodgers actually pursuing a political career, considering his age and wealth.

He added, “It was like kind of believable because there are boys that felt like Aaron like we’re not doing quite enough remember when I took the pay cut like hey guys I just rehab my a** off and we feel a little bit like the Packers like where are our moves. That’s what that felt like because I heard someone say this and they were right. The VP doesn’t pay $50 million a year; he ain’t going to be the vice president. Rich people don’t go into politics till they get older and bored. Aaron is still young and rich and he ain’t leaving the NFL but that did feel a little bit green Bish a little different tactic.

Furthermore, ‘3 & Out‘ host also criticized Rodgers for not addressing the rumors more directly and for his past controversies. Middlekauff highlighted, “Come on Aaron that would have been one if you respected your employer you just would have just tweeted out like this is the stupidest report ever guys. I can’t wait to see it OTAs because he did it about Sandy Hook which obviously is a much more powerful headline than being the VP a lot of people making fun of him.”

Overall, Cowherd and Middlekauff felt that the rumors about Jets QB Rodgers as a VP nominee were unlikely and potentially just a distraction from his football career. Nevertheless, Rodgers is already out of the VP post running as per the latest reports.

Why is Aaron Rodgers no longer Robert F. Kennedy’s running mate?

Last week, there were reports that the Jets QB would be the running mate of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This raised eyebrows because Kennedy is allegedly known for endorsing conspi*acy theories, and Rodgers has also been linked to some of these beliefs. One of his recent alleged claims, as quoted by Yahoo Magazine: “On Wednesday, Rodgers was reported to have told two people, including a CNN reporter, that he believed the Sandy Hook shooting to be a “government inside job. On Thursday, he posted a curiously worded tweet saying the massacre was “an absolute tragedy.”

And then on Friday, a video from Kennedy suggested that A-Rod not be his pick for VP. Eventually, Kennedy announced that his running mate would be Nicole Shanahan, a California-based attorney and entrepreneur, and not Rodgers, causing concerns among campaign donors.
