David Akers

David Akers is a household name in the city of Philadelphia. After all, he is the all-time leading scorer for the Eagles. This placekicker was picked up by the Eagles in 1999 and remained in service until 2010. Earned five Pro Bowl honors with the team. He was also inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 2017.

In 2011, the 49ers made a blockbuster move that took Akers away from the Eagles. After spending two outstanding seasons with the 49ers, Akers moved again. He earned one more Pro Bowl honor in his career with the 49ers.

Terrell Owens

Considered to be one of the greatest receivers in NFL history. The San Francisco team selected this 49er Hall of Famer in the 1996 NFL Draft. The WR wore the red and gold of the 49ers for a whopping 8 years. Earning Pro Bowl honors three times.

He moved to the Eagles in 2004 due to his differences and feuds with the 49ers staff and management. That continued with the Eagles as well, and he moved again in 2006, spending only two years with the Eagles.

Jeff Garcia

This QB made a name for himself in the CFL before moving to the greener pastures of the NFL. The 49ers poached him in 1999. He soon got to the starting position as well within the team and was a dangerous QB for all the defenses. The 3X Pro Bowler with the 49ers was released in 2003 after a bad season and a change of management.

He joined the Eagles in 2006 after a frustrating season with the Detroit Lions. Signed on as a backup to QB Donovan McNabb, he soon found himself in the starting position after a season-ending injury to McNabb. Garcia performed brilliantly and took the team to the playoffs. But both could not agree on contractual terms, and the Eagles did not re-sign Garcia.

The Eagles signed this aggressive and hard-hitting player as a free agent in 1994. He immediately became the captain of the squad as well. He had a career-high 154 tackles with the Eagles in his first season, earning him his first Pro Bowl honor. In a blockbuster trade, the Broncos took him away in 1997.

Max Runager

He was drafted by the Eagles in the 1979 NFL Draft, and this punter served for the Eagles until 1983, for five years. Known for his accuracy and hang time, he was part of the historic 1980 team that took the Eagles to the Super Bowl for the first time. Financial issues within the team caused him to switch the green and white for the red and gold of the 49ers.

He joined the 49ers squad in 1984 and won two Super Bowls with the famous team, in 1984 and 1988. Fittingly, he ended his career at the place where it all began, playing for the Eagles one last time in 1989.
