A wide receiver making to the good books of some of the finest quarterbacks out there is indeed something. Tyreek Hill gained the trust of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and coach Mike McDaniel and hence has been performing his best. Similarly, the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been earning the trust of his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and coach Andy Reid. The latest 107-yard magic is the perfect example of the statement.

The Chiefdom has been waiting for over two months for a WR to take over the main role, and it might have finally happened on Sunday. His touchdown run all the way and setting a record helped Rice contribute to the winning of the Chiefs. With this, he shattered the notion of being Mahomes’ second choice, as Andy Reid also revealed the magic of Rice on the team recently.

When playing against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chiefs’ rookie Rashee Rice, became the top receiver for the franchise and achieved his first game with 100 or more receiving yards in his career. He emerged as the major contributor to the Chiefs’ 31-17 win. Post-game, when Andy Reid was asked for his take on Rice, the 65-year-old revealed why Rice seems to be establishing himself really well.

He said, “He’s a smart kid. He works tremendously hard at his profession here so he’s got the trust of the quarterback.” Building on his route running, Rice sometimes changed direction during breaks, leading to incorrect footwork and giving away his moves to defensive backs too soon. Even his second preseason game didn’t start well, however, later in the season, Rice has been getting better every week.

The Chiefs’ offense broke out in Week 12, and the chemistry that caught the eyes of the Chiefdom was between Patrick Mahomes and Rashee Rice. The Rookie receiver had his best game so far as a pro in the Sunday night football game. After the Raiders took a 14-0 lead against the Chiefs, Mahomes’ offense squad started performing well under pressure. During the first scoring drive in the second quarter, Mahomes threw the pass to Rice, who was running across the field in the middle, on the crucial 3rd and 8 in the red zone.
