You know Rob Gronkowski, former Patriots’ star, skipped this Sunday’s show of Fox NFL Sunday? Yes, and the reason behind his absence will make you smirk or raise eyebrows. Did Terry Bradshaw’s mean personal comment on Gronk’s air analysis become the reason behind his ditching the broadcast? Both experts have been running the showing for two years now.

The reality is Gronkowski was in New Hampshire this Sunday (November 24) to fulfill a commitment he made to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Reportedly, Gronks’ date was already lined up for the opening ceremony even before the so-called “beef” happened.

So, all the fictional reasons for Gronkowski skipping the show had nothing to do with him wanting to quit or his 76-year-old partner wanting to kick him out.

You would think Bradshaw’s statement must have hurt Rob, leaving him feeling ‘sidelined‘? Or maybe that’s the case, who knows? But what’s interesting is that following their verbal fight, Gronkowski skipped showing up on the stage with Bradshaw on this Sunday’s show. All the speculations started with Terry commenting Jimmy Johnson would fill in Gronkowski’s place.

Jimmy Johnson, the former Cowboys HC, made headlines last year for cutting down on his workload rather than retiring. So, he has not been there for a long time and was replaced by Gronkowski two years ago. However, on November 17, Bradshaw’s comments to the four-time Super Bowl champion added fuel to the fire. So, that’s why a lot of people began speculating about a possible rift between these two.

Soon after the November 17 match-up between the Lions and the Jaguars culminated in the former’s win (52-6), the Fox NFL Sunday crew shared their perspectives. Rob Gronkowski, who has been a broadcaster on the show since 2022, made a fine statement quoting Bill Belichick. He explained how the Lions dominated their opponent and how it reflected Belichick’s mentality of never playing down to your opponent.

But Terry Bradshaw could not hold himself back from commenting on Gronkowski’s analysis and started pulling his leg. Bradshaw remarked, “The guy whose seat you’re sitting in right now, while he’s on vacation”.

After listening to his partner’s comment, a nervous Gronks said, “I’m part of the show, Terry, okay? Where are you going with that?” Following the statement, Bradshaw quickly apologized to Rob saying, “I apologize Gronk, you know I love you.” Though his comments may have deeply hurt the former NFL tight end as he dodged the show due to his commitment to a $16 billion company. But the funniest part is that the 35-year-old legend confirmed why his 76-year-old colleague thinks he is a part-time worker.
