Everyone thought Travis Kelce already had his Eras Tour moment on May 12, but boy, were we wrong. While that 87th show may have been very Travis-coded, nothing came close to the events of this weekend. And to kick everything off in London on Friday, Taylor Swift seemingly paid tribute to Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce.

When Taylor Swift kicked off the European leg of her tour, she started mismatching her dazzling two-pieces, and many believed it was primarily in anticipation of her 87th show. And, well, as May 12 rolled around, Swift emerged wearing a yellow top and a reddish-orange skirt, a clear tribute to the Kansas City Chiefs. This time around, fans speculate that she did the same on June 21. Only this time, her outfit was in Donna Kelce colors.

As the mother of two NFL superstars – Travis and (now-retired) Jason Kelce – who play(ed) for different teams, Mama Kelce has done her best to show both of them her unconditional support. But when there couldn’t have been any higher stakes at the 2023 Super Bowl when the Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles, Donna was faced with a conundrum: Whose jersey would I wear? Well, she rocked a custom half-and-half jersey. In front were the Chiefs’ colors and Travis’ 87. On the back were the Eagles’ colors and Jason’s 62. Taylor Swift did something similar with her 1989 outfit.

The 34-year-old wore a red top and a blueish-green skirt on Friday, and Eagle-eyed fans (pun intended) found a striking similarity to Donna Kelce’s split jersey, which has now been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (along with Donna’s custom shoes). Although Taylor Swift hasn’t confessed (does she ever?) if this was her plan, it seems extremely likely, considering the Kelce clan (minus Donna and the kids) was in London to support her. Married to Mama Kelce’s elder son, Jason, Kylie and Donna share a very close bond. And it has a lot to do with how Donna and her ex-husband Ed raised their children. Discussing just how much support Jason shows her, Kylie revealed, “His mom was an outstanding example of a strong, independent woman.” The retired NFL star’s wife humorously admitted, “I wish I had the traveling abilities of my mother-in-law.” Well, Kylie is not wrong there!

Over the years, fans have seen the 71-year-old travel from one stadium to another, cheering for her sons, no matter the distance. And before each of their games, she also sends them sweet texts. Seeing as Jason had someone like Donna Kelce to look up to as a kid, his wife added, “It is those traits that I think helped him understand that women can be a strong force. Although they’re no longer together, his parents were very much a partnership in how they function, and it was a team effort.” That’s precisely how they’re raising their three daughters now.

It’s not surprising that Kylie and Donna have mutual admiration. In past interviews, Donna Kelce has shown her love for her daughter-in-law, too. She said, “We’re just very similar in our likes and dislikes and how we feel about the world… Kylie is just one of a kind. In the transition between The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, the tight end got up on stage wearing a tuxedo along with two other dancers, carried Swift in his arms, and played the part to get her ready for the next song. Needless to say, everyone watching was absolutely ecstatic. When someone posted the video online, writing, “TRAVIS KELCE IS ON STAGE SOS,” Donna reposted it on her Facebook page.

If that doesn’t show just how supportive Mama Kelce is of her son’s relationship with Taylor Swift, what does?
