Earlier this year, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs wound up being victorious over the 49ers at the Super Bowl. With the loss still echoing in the ears and hearts of the athletes and the team’s fans, San Francisco seems to be making sure it covers all bases this time around. Now, ahead of the 2024 NFL season, former athlete Vernon Davis has revealed how the team can make an epic comeback.
In a recent episode of the 49ers Webzone: No Huddle podcast, the hosts, Al Sacco and Brian Renick asked Davis how the team could make it back to the Super Bowl this year. The 40-year-old stated that not every year was guaranteed. However, he believed that the San Francisco team could make it happen if they all worked together towards the same goal.

Davis stated that the 49ers had a lot of “playmakers” on the team at the moment, but it would take all of them sharing the same “mindset” to reach the title decider. The 40-year-old said, ” If everybody does their job and they have that same attitude and approach to the game like they did last year and the year before, I think they can really do some wonderful things.”
With Davis’ advice and Brock Purdy’s performance from last season, the 49ers could just come out on top this season. While the 24-year-old had stunned fans with his final touchdown during Super Bowl LVIII, it looks like he might have some new tricks up his sleeve for this year.

He stated, “You can obviously continue to work on your arm strength and all that kind of stuff, but I think just the way you process, the way you go through reads, you can’t get enough reps. And so, that’s where I’m at.” Purdy also admitted that he focused on watching game tapes, coming into practice, and memorizing every play in the book to ensure he knew what to do on the field. With Purdy making sure he levels up his game every year, it will not be long before the 24-year-old winds up leading the 49ers to a championship win.
