Taylor Swift and her cinnamon rolls were one of the highlights of the 2023 NFL season. Interestingly, it appears that the tight end beau Travis Kelce is still not over them. After all, per the Super Bowl Champion, the “Mine” singer “makes a great pop tart and cinnamon roll.” While Kelce’s relationship with the pop star Taylor Swift has been the show stealer for the Chiefs, the football player in his recent interview reiterated his passion and zeal for football.

The Chiefs TE signed a two-year $34.25 million extension this off-season, going into his 12th season. While everyone has been curious about when the younger Kelce brother might bid goodbye to football, Travis seems to be in no rush to limit his passion. Reflecting on this energy, the linebacker Drue Tranquill talked about Travis Kelce as the TE, Chris Jones, Patrick Mahomes, and others bring a “championship culture” to the team.

“I think there’s a championship culture here and that starts at the top with our ownership and down to our players and it’s very apparent. You see guys like Travis who’s going into his 12 year and dude just loves to practice,” said Tranquil and added, “I mean you think he’s [Kelce] a little kid out there, just vocals, body language, in an out of the huddle, running on the field.” Chiefs TE also showcased a similar mindset and indirectly vouched for the linebacker’s words. His answer presented a story of determination and passion.

I love coming to work every single day, said Kelce and added, “I know there’s opportunities outside of football for me and I think you’ve got to keep in the perspective that I’m still a little kid when I come into this building man. I know I’m 34 years old about to be 35 but, I have a love to do this [football] right here.” Thus, there is no denying that Kelce’s will to remain in the NFL is strong.

Last season, he fell short of having his 8 1,000-yard season. His streak ended at 7, but the Chiefs player exclaimed that he wanted to play for much longer and didn’t give retirement much thought. While Travis Kelce wants to play till the “wheels fall off,” the memory of last year’s Chargers’ game might have kicked in as Kelce recalled those cinnamon rolls and gave the pop singer a shout-out at the recent press conference.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift budding “cinnamon” romance

On 19th April, Taylor Swift launched her latest studio album The Tortured Poets Department, and went to great lengths to promote it. Social media posts, YouTube Shorts, and a couple of other promotion tactics helped the album reach an even wider audience. But amidst all that promotion, there’s something that caught everyone’s eye.

The 14x Grammy-winning popstar was seen cooking and guess who was jamming in the background? It was none other than Chiefs TE Travis Kelce. The glimpses from the video showcased Travis Kelce leaning in and stealing a kiss as Tay Tay stirred the pot, probably preparing her classic cinnamon rolls and pop tarts.

Apparently, those cinnamon rolls are the Chiefs TE’s pregame meal or maybe a charm of good luck, something sweet before he gets involved in brutal tackling. According to Ben Kosar, a former NFL QB, Taylor Swift brought those delicacies to Kelce before the game against the LA Chargers last year. The Chiefs won that game 31-17, with Kelce scoring a touchdown over 179 yards of reception.

“That was at his house like three hours before the game,” said Kosar. “We’re having pregame meal and Taylor is so nice she comes in by herself and she’s so cool, she brings, she made her homemade cinnamon rolls for Travis for pregame meal.” But Swift’s appreciation for the Chiefs doesn’t stop there because she brought treats for the Chiefs O-linemen too and Andy Reid was impressed.

“Behind-the-scenes … [Taylor] likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade pop tarts,” Reid revealed, before adding, “She didn’t give me one, and the offensive linemen definitely didn’t give me one … She knew right where to go.” As the couple stir and evolve their relationship dynamics, Travis Kelce will look to hold onto the legacy the Chiefs have built over the years, as they aim to conquer yet another NFL season.
