SNF was a live wire. Especially the game between the Lions and Vikings. The latter was riding on an undefeated campaign, but the Lions stopped them in their tracks. Jared Goff has led them outstandingly for the last 2 games. Against the Cowboys, they won 47-9. Against the Vikings, it was a more close, more intense 31-29 win. However, the week 7 win has made everyone praise the quarterback’s ability to stay calm under pressure.

Former NFL GM Michael Lombardi appeared with former NFL QB Rich Gannon on the VSiN Morning Line Show. During the show, both discussed about Lions QB and were surprised at his abilities. While Lombardi said, “He’s been throwing darts. He’s been unbelievable,” Gannon signed (wooh) and said, “If you look at his last 3 games, he has been nearly perfect.

Both of them later agreed upon one thing: that in current form, Jared Goff is a favorite to win MVP ahead of famous QBs like Patrick Mahomes. In the last 3 games, he has been just crushing the rivals. Against the Seahawks, the QB had 18 of 18 passes (100% completion rate) with 292 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you are thinking that’s impressive, check out the next game stat. Against the Cowboys, Goff had 18 of 25 passes with 315 yards and 3 touchdowns. In week 7, against the Vikings, the QB made 22 of 25 passes with 280 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Before that, the ex-NFL GM appeared on the Pat McAfee Show where they talked about an opportunity the Chiefs missed. Lombardi said that the Chiefs needed a receiver like Amari Cooper who was traded to Bills instead. With many WRs like Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco injured, they wanted to strengthen their team by adding one before the trades close on November 5. They could have easily added him, as his contract money was very low. But no one is too bothered about the back-to-back Super Bowl winners.

One very meticulous thing pointed by both Lombardi and Gannon was Goff’s toughness. The quarterback usually keeps a calm face, no matter how much the situation gets tough. And that usually fools the rivals. Now, the head coach Dan Campbell has also praised the quarterback.

While talking about the signal caller, the coach said, “That’s what he’s (Jared Goff) got in his brain and what he’s got in his heart. The guy’s a competitor. He doesn’t get frazzled. He’s tough. He’s durable. That’s what makes him dangerous. That’s what makes him a winner.

Impressed by his skills as a winner, the Lions management signed a 4-year $212 million contract with him in 2024. The fans are hoping he would lead the team to win the Super Bowl. It would be the first trophy for them.
