Davante Adams is “just chilling trying to be the model for not stirring the pot.” However, that doesn’t mean others won’t. Adams opened the Pandora’s Box after requesting a trade from the Raiders as he sat out the game against the Cleveland Browns. But something happened after the game that raised some eyebrows.
Michael Fabiano of SI stirred the pot some more when he posted a video of the Raiders HC liking a controversial post involving the WR. There have been all sorts of wild speculations about Adams’ next home like him joining the Chiefs. Sounds absurd, doesn’t it? Also, speculations of him going to Foxborough are high, but the reason for that is entirely different.
Carlos Talks Pats dug deep and found a video of Davante Adams showing love to Jerod Mayo in an episode of ‘The Shop.’ If 17 ever chose to go to Foxborough, it wouldn’t be because of strategic reasons. It would have to do with what having a coach of color signifies for the team. To Adams, the “location” of the team is as important as the person who’s the HC there.

Davante Adams on #Patriots HC Jerod Mayo back in March 👀
“… the location of the team makes that a bigger deal. A Black head coach on the Patriots is gonna be much bigger… then putting a Black head coach on the Raiders — “
Robert Kraft:
“That’s actually nice that you say… pic.twitter.com/0JJyyDnbO4— Carlos Talks Pats (@LosTalksPats) October 1, 2024
For one, Robert Kraft, the Pats owner was thankful for Davante Adams’ assessment. Per Adams, “The location of the team makes that a bigger deal. A Black head coach on the Patriots is going to be much bigger… then putting a Black head coach on the Raiders.” It’s the same as having a person of color coaching the Green Bay Packers.
“It’s actually nice that you say that” Robert Kraft replied. Again, the speculations about where the 6x Pro Bowl wideout will go next are at an all-time high. But we can’t forget that the Patriots in the off-season had huge cap space and offered Brandon Aiyuk a record-breaking $32 million/year deal. However, that didn’t materialize. But what says that it can’t be true for #17?

Did Davante Adams' praise for Jerod Mayo just rub salt in the Patriots' Brandon Aiyuk wound?

The Pats have a major problem with their offense, and they need someone like Adams to fix the mess. However, the WR made it clear when he joined the Raiders that he was chasing a ring. The New England team, sadly, cannot help him with winning a Lombardi at this point. Who knows what the future holds for Davante Adams? That’s because, at this point, even the Raiders receiver doesn’t have all the answers.

The Las Vegas Raiders HC liked SI’s post that was captioned, “Don’t be surprised if Davante Adams has already played his last snap with the Raiders.” Well, the veteran receiver didn’t know what to make of this. In fact, he hasn’t had further communication with Pierce. But he’s aware that things on social media can be twisted into something negative.
“I haven’t heard from him. I haven’t talked to him. So I don’t really know exactly what that’s all about,” Adams said. “Social media’s a beast. It’s a lot of people out there that saw it and wondering what’s going on. People reaching out. I haven’t spoke to him,” Adams admitted to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He also didn’t disclose any major details about the future trade that may or may not happen.

The Raiders stalwart missed the game against the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury and is on a week-to-week basis with his team. The Raiders have their eyes and ears open for trade opportunities. For now, Adams doesn’t want to exacerbate his hamstring injuries and will be out for as long as needed.
