Is Taylor Swift's presence at Chiefs games a distraction or a boost for the team?

“I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don’t care,” Taylor Swift said when the 12-time Grammy Award winner was asked about her presence in the Chiefs match-ups in the current season. But her attendance in the Chiefs’ games stirred the internet when broadcasters seemed to show the 34-year-old singer-songwriter frequently on air. Also, the Chiefs star Travis Kelce admitted to ‘overdoing‘ or panning cameras on the singer often. Though it pissed off many sports fans and enthusiasts, a CEO of a renowned music company is not among them.

Universal Music Group CEO Jody Gerson praised Swift, saying, “I always say that Taylor Swift has taught me more about my own power than anyone else. I grew up making myself small to make men feel bigger.” The $43 billion corporation’s CEO continued, saying she learned from the 34-year-old music icon: “Taylor Swift is unapologetic in her ambition. She stands strong. This generation is learning a lot from her.”

The Time’s Person of the Year for 2023 facing a backlash from football fans. The main issue was that, as the girlfriend of the Chiefs’ No. 87, she regularly attended his games. Swift gained attention during the Week 3 game between the Chiefs and the Bears.

The pop culture phenomenon clarified her frequent appearances and the trolling she received. When Time’s interviewer asked about making football fans pissed off, Swift iterated, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

Though the ‘Swiftie Queen’ has justified her stance on making people pissed off, she probably does not care about it. And it can’t be denied that the pop-star’s frequent appearances have turned the hype up for sure.

Reportedly, the famous pop star was busy with her ‘Eras Tour‘. But even in her ‘tight‘ schedule, she managed to be present for Kansas City Chiefs’ games. In total, she has been noticed in the stadium and actively supporting Chiefs star tight end three times this season.

Talking about the attention she got in the Chiefs’ game against the Bears last season and later on for two other times, the songwriter sensation said, “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

The pop artist, whose upcoming album ‘Reputation: Taylor’s Version’ is also in the news, is receiving criticism. Swift justified it as, “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift both came under the limelight when she declared their relationship in a Time magazine interview and also when the artist showed up in the week 3 game last season. The last time Swift was seen at a Chiefs game was on November 4, 2024, during the Chiefs’ home game against the Buccaneers.

Interestingly, in every Chiefs game where Swift was present, the team won, but #87 did not score a touchdown in any of those three games (which paints a different picture than last year). But the couple is not bothered about all the noise. Will Swift attend the next KC game? We’ll soon find out!
