Did Bobby Witt Jr. just outshine Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City? What do you think?

The Kansas City Royals absolutely demolished the Arizona Diamondbacks right now and Bobby Witt Jr. was just a single shy of the cycle in the 4 inning. Of course, Patrick Mahomes, part owner of the team, was thrilled by the performance. There isn’t a major sport that Mahomes skips out on, and baseball is no different considering how the QB nearly got drafted in the MLB.

The Kansas City Chiefs star QB couldn’t contain his excitement watching Bobby Witt Jr. annihilating the pitchers. He took to X and, in typical Mahomes fashion, had a brief message encoded for the Kansas City Royals star. “Man is going crazy right now! 🔥🔥@BwittJr,” said Mahomes’ post on X. The Royals have won the last 3 games against the Chicago White Sox and this game looks like it’s in their control too. So far, Bobby Witt Jr. has been at the bat 4 times, scoring 3 runs over 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

The crowd at the Kauffman Stadium couldn’t stop cheering for Bobby Baseball as he sent the ball out the field with a massive exit velocity of 109.2 MPH launching it over 431ft to the deep left-center field. This was his 18 HR and 69 RBI for the season. He left the Arizona Diamondbacks with a bitter taste in their mouths. The Diamondbacks suffered a 10-4 upset by the time the game ended.

The Royals and the Diamondbacks are playing again tomorrow. So, if you missed this one, you could find them again at the Kauffman Stadium and again a day after that. For now, the KC Royals remain at the 9 position in Matt Snyder’s MLB Power Rankings.

But things were different a week ago and Mahomes was not all that cheery.

Patrick Mahomes upset over Bobby Witt Jr’s HR Derby upset

Last week, the KC Royals and the LA Dodgers put on a show. Unfortunately, Teoscar Hernandez left Bobby Baseball with a bitter taste in his mouth. Hernandez won the Home Run Derby on a Monday night, leaving the local hero Witt Jr. upset. Again, Mahomes expressed disappointment on X.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Bobby Witt Jr. just outshine Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City? What do you think?

Have an interesting take?

“Noooooooooooooooooooo,” wrote the QB on X. You can really tell how disappointed he was just by the number of O’s used in the X post. But while Bobby Baseball lost that day, winning the HR Derby was something of an experience for Teoscar Hernandez. After all, he became the first Dodgers player to win the derby among 11 who have tried.

Maybe next year Bobby Witt Jr. can try his hands on the Derby once again. Till then, he and Mahomes have to celebrate the regular season wins. Honestly, that doesn’t sound too bad.
