Tyreek Hill became the talk of the town after a fan called him a “ticking timebomb” on social media. Recently, Mike Florio pointed out that Hill’s contract is not what it seems and called it a “fugazi,” stating that he makes $25 million in a year and not $30 million. The speedster’s contract is laid out in such a way that he gets $45 million in his final year, which led fans to believe that the Miami Dolphins will not pay him such a huge amount.

Hill liked some of those fan tweets and some even pointed out his social media activity for everyone to see, trying to gather attention on themselves. But the Miami WR clarified that he’s here to stay, which was backed by the Head Coach Mike McDaniel. The coach mentioned that he’s saving Hill’s “horsepower” for mandatory training to protect him from injuries, which is why the Cheetah didn’t show up to the OTAs.

Hill recently liked a tweet that said, “Tyreek is a ticking timebomb, deep down his ego is going to come out because KC has won 2 SBs while he has 0 playoff wins here,” and Neal Driscoll, the host of Fin Too Deep podcast backed the SB winning wideout by saying, “F that. @cheetah is a Miami Dolphin. Bad fans don’t represent the majority. Tyreek will finish his career in Miami. Absolute franchise changer”

Hill seemed appreciative of the support and hinted that he’s here to stay with the Miami franchise for times to come. He reposted Driscoll’s post on X by saying, “Blessed regardless I appreciate you guys taking me in 😌.”  Also, Hill was rumored to be unsatisfied with his contract and not showing up to the OTAs, but those words were debunked by Mike McDaniel on the grounds of saving him from injuries and using him when serious training starts.

Currently, the speedster wideout is making $19.7 million in base salary and carries a cap hit of $31.3 million this year. But Hill’s salary took a backseat when AJ Brown received a 3-year $96 million extension on his existing contract. Reportedly, Tyreek Hill was more driven to find a new deal after AJ Brown and Amon-Ra St. Brown solidified their positions in their respective teams for times to come. This is after Tyreek Hill was no. 1 in receiving yards and led the league with 13 touchdowns in the last season.

However, there is still hope for Hill to get a renegotiated deal because Jaylen Waddle just made quite a bag. Perhaps that is why he is sitting out of mandatory training, but the Dolphins head coach says something different.

Cheetah’s hopes getting up seeing Jaylen Waddle thrive

A few days earlier, Mike McDaniel took the podium after the OTAs and addressed the media about why Tyreek Hill was absent from the camp. He knows that Tyreek Hill has a “Go hard or go home” approach to playing football, which leaves him vulnerable to injuries. Hence, McDaniel wanted to save Hill from himself and didn’t call him up for the voluntary OTAs.

“Knowing Tyreek’s all-or-nothing type of mindset on the grass, yes, we do take that into account. There’s multiple times that he’s you know, usually trying to talk us into it, but we’re talking him out of participation on the field knowing where his Ferrari horsepower is at and making sure that stays that way,” said McDaniel in the presser.

At one point, Hill mentioned that he was depressed because he didn’t get the reaction he wanted from the Chiefs after leaving the team. Despite doubts from people about the Chiefs’ ability to win Super Bowls without him, the KC team went ahead and won two more. While he appeared fine on the outside, frustration consumed him, prompting him to take a trip to Japan to ease his mind.

Now, monetary issues surround him again as he sees his peers scoring massive extensions from their teams, leaving him out. For instance, Jaylen Waddle just landed a 3-year, $84.75 million deal, with $76 million in guarantees, compared to Hill’s 4-year, $120 million deal with $72.2 million guaranteed.

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, Hill might be in for a renegotiated deal, which might make him superior to his peers all over again, but this time, the deal might come without a catch.
