The Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is seemingly on the MVP watch. The 25-year-old commenced his nascent NFL journey with the franchise last season.

After a slow start to the 2023 season and incurring several losses in the fourth quarter, the quarterback found his composure and flipped the script in the second half of the year. While it is unclear whether he’ll be able to iron out those setbacks this year, Ex-Detroit Lions QB Dan Orlovsky has voiced one of the biggest projections for Love’s career.

While tuning in for a call with ESPN exclusive ‘Wilde and Tausch’, analyst Orlovsky weighed in on his thoughts for the Packers QB. The former Lions professional claimed that he wouldn’t pick any active players on the draft over Jordan for the foreseeable future, notably superseding the latter over Lions QB Jared Goff. “I don’t think that there’s a quarterback in the NFC that I would definitively take over Jordan Love when it comes to the future 6-8 year window.”

However, Orlovsky placing Love in the top pecking order comes off as a surprise. Owing to the fresh talent’s mere initiation in the NFL world, he likely stands a slim chance against the sport’s formidable giants, which includes the likes of Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes.

After delivering terrific performances this past season, notably registering 30 touchdowns while covering 4575 yards, Goff was rewarded with a renewed contract by the Detroit Lions. With this, the franchise-tagged quarterback stands to mint $53 million annually, and his overall compensation rounding off at a staggering $212 million by 2028.

This only goes to show how the QBs market has ballooned over the years. Consequently, this can pose serious competition for Love and his long-term goals.

A Green Bay Packers quarterback adding a feather to their cap by winning a Super Bowl trophy would certainly be the dream of the Packers and fans.

Of course, the Packers have bagged four of those honors previously, notably in 1967, ’68, ’97 and 2011. Moreover, their last Super Bowl victory came at the hands of Packers ex-QB, Aaron Rodgers. While some critics expect the 40-year-old veteran to be the last Packers QB to lift the accolade, some project a different path for the team.

If Love manages to win a Super Bowl for his team this season, he would be the maiden Packers quarterback to earn the laurel since Aaron’s triumph in 2011. The 25-year-old certainly delivered promising results in his first year as a starter. However, it remains to be seen whether he can perform better this season and script another new chapter for the franchise!
