Andy Reid’s love for burgers is as well-known in the NFL world. The Kansas City Chiefs head coach’s interest in cheeseburgers was highly publicized after his Super Bowl triumphs in 2020 and 2024 with the team. In fact, Patrick Mahomes has also mentioned his coach’s two primary preferences: “He’s all about football and cheeseburgers,” said the three-time Super Bowl champion.
Once again, the 66-year-old is making headlines with a new disclosure concerning his love for cheeseburgers during a commercial hamburger shoot with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Complex Sports took to its official X handle to highlight Andy’s latest hilarious experience with the three-time MVP player. The post’s caption read, “Coach Andy Reid, how many cheeseburgers?”
In the latest clip, the distinguished coach expressed his experience after having his 60 hamburger while filming the commercial. “We did a hamburger shoot, and I made a pact to myself, just being a cheeseburger connoisseur, that I wouldn’t use the spit bucket. But after about the 60 cheeseburger, I had to go there. Yeah, I had to go there. So I used the spit bucket,” he said.

However, he unveiled that this wasn’t the most humorous part of his hamburger shoot. It was rather a request from the director that had Mahomes cracking up which eventually let to a dismissal of the ad. “That wasn’t the funniest part. The funniest part was the producer here. He wanted me to try to talk and do my lines with my mouth full of the cheeseburger,” added Reid.

“And Pat’s sitting right in front of me. So I’m trying to do this, and there’s cheeseburgers flying everywhere at these guys. And they couldn’t hold a straight face. I mean, they were dying laughing. Finally, Pat goes, ‘Cut it, we’re not doing this,’” Reid commented. Surprisingly, this is not the first time the four-time Super Bowl-winning coach has grabbed attention for his love of burgers.
Reid’s celebratory meal went viral when the Kansas City Chiefs secured a 25-22 victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 2024. Reid celebrated his sweet victory with burgers from the West Coast burger chain In-N-Out Burger.

During an interview following the SB 2024 victory, the KC Chiefs coach received a special gift box full of burgers from the chain restaurant, courtesy of sports commentator Chris Berman. This interview, co-hosted by Reid’s wife Tammy Reid and Booger McFarland, featured Berman surprising Reid with the box of burgers.
ESPN published a video of Berman, approaching the end of the interview by reaching curiously under his desk. He got a box full of burgers from Andy’s favorite chain restaurant. “You don’t have to eat it on set; it’s up to you,” Berman told the coach, remarking, “You can take it with you, but you don’t leave the ESPN set empty-handed.” Taking hold of Berman’s hand, Andy took a jibe, “What’s sad is I can smell the onions.”

“That’s a bad sign,” he chimed in with laughter, and the commentator replied, “That’s why you’re omnipresent as a coach… go enjoy a snack.” Previously, in June 2023, Reid also caught attention for his revelation about the delicious food served at the White House. The coach expressed his interest in the incredible spread that was prepared for the Super Bowl champs.
As Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs went to the President’s Palace, a mouth-watering spread of lavish sandwiches like Monte Cristo’ grilled cheese and ham, among other delights was available, which made it a delightful experience.
